Somehow you have interpreted my post in the exact opposite way in which it was intended. I was criticizing Buchanan and the other "palaeos" in the Buchanan fan club for putting European ethnicity ahead of their religious identity. Putin is their hero because he is a European strongman who is going to keep G-d from going "poof" when the rest of European Man becomes extinct (their thinking, not mine).
I was expecting to be dissected as a "gay Jewish neocon" by someone for my post, but not to be attacked by a fellow opponent of Putin (though I'm opposed to Western "progressivism" and homosexualism as well)? That's just crazy.
Yeah. Pat, as they would undoubtedly have said back at Gonzaga College High, leave room for the Holy Spirit between you and Vlad. This is starting to get unseemly.

Its the same kind of respect that one could say about Pelosi, sure she is a radical and uber liberal, but she fights for her constituents, unlike Boehner, who fights against his constituents.

You know what? After rereading your post to find the flaws in your point, instead, I found that I misinterpreted your post. So, my apologies. I think your last paragraph through me off, but we have mostly agreement here.

The Powerful Putin Pat Pines for is actually against the anti-semitic nationalists in the Ukraine, or so he says. As far as Putin's "Christianity" goes, even Joe Stalin invoked the Russian Orthodox Church (not all that difficult, since the commies actually ran the Orthodox church thing) to inspire the muziki to resist Hitler.

Well, the Muslims think it is, or at least they don't care very much which Christian they kill or convert.
Pat considers himself a Western Christian Gentleman. A Crusader, Soldier at the Gates of Vienna, Sailor at Lepanto, perhaps even a priestly Teutonic Knight converting Slavic hordes. A bit tedious perhaps, but annoying as it may be to you, Western Civilization in its higher aspects from which we all benefit is sort of you know, like ... well ... for occasionally better and sometimes worse ...Christian... or says it is ... or used to be.
Oddly enough, ZC, the aforementioned Muslims often and still call Israel the "Crusader Kingdom."
