Weinberger recanted , he lied, others who worked with Cap said he had an unexplainable hatred of Israel. The aids of Weinberger disproved what Cap said.

So America gets a black eye on this one.

I am surprised this is news here at freerepublic.

I don’t believe America wants the story of the whole judicial process to come out. But even worse if Pollard dies in Jail. It will come out anyway. Moral is if you make agreements on Intelligence sharing you must live up to them.

How does it violate A? It doesn’t. And I’m a Jew.

It doesn’t. BUT obama has never done anything to please Israel ever, ever, ever as far as I know.

After all these years the damage to America from releasing Pollard isn’t all that sharp, especially when contrasted to the joy Israelis must feel at the prospect of his freedom.

Yes, but my astonishment is more at doing something that might please Israel. He’s done loads of things that were Israel neutral, and loads of things that were inimical to Israel, but never anything that would favor Israel in the slightest.

I’ll give you that.

I had an Obamabot acquaintance tell me before the first election what a friend Obama was going to be for Israel. Yeah. Sure. Most of my Jewish relatives voted for him twice. Sad. They are clueless.

You know 90% of Israelis are up in arms over the release of over 100 tried and convicted murderers.

Protest with the grieving family members crying have happened in front of the Israeli Parliament

It seems to me Abbas giving these killers 5% of the PA budget in monthy stipends, and $25,000 dollar bonuses, shows the terrorists have a real partner with Abbas.

Robert Hanssen
Wikipedia
Robert Philip Hanssen (born April 18, 1944) is a former US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent who spied for Soviet and Russian intelligence services against the United States for 22 years from 1979 to 2001...After Hanssen married, he converted from Lutheranism to his wife's Catholicism, becoming a fervent believer and being extensively involved in Opus Dei...According to USA Today, those who knew the Hanssens described them as a close family. They attended Mass weekly and were very active in Opus Dei. Robert Hanssen's three sons attended The Heights School in Potomac, Maryland, an all-boys preparatory school.[59] His daughters attended Oakcrest School for Girls, an independent Roman Catholic school. Both schools are associated with Opus Dei.

"...while the contentious fourth set of Palestinian prisoners are to be released."

Scandalous, that our former western culture nations are often releasing batches of terrorists.

Weinberger was an anti-semite. Period. Soviet spies like Hansen and Ames ACTUALLY got American agents or recruits executed by the Soviets, and the amount of harm those two did far outweighted anything that Pollard is alleged to have done.

We don’t know what Pollard gave the Israelis. I defy anyone to provide one classified document from what he gave them. We only have Weinberger’s word which wasn’t worth a damned.

The US, esp. the State Dept. and DOD are deathly afraid of what Pollard will tell us when he is freed. We’ve never heard his side and still might not, depending on the terms of any release.

Pollard was wrong and paid a heavy price for it, but his trial was a travesty.

It would be very damaging to the US if Pollard’s statements that the US was not living up to an agreement with Israel to share certain types of intelligence, were true. It would be even worse if a lack of this information put Israel’s very existence at stake.

Stay tuned for a possible answer, some day, some time, eventually.

Ah, so this is why the BLM is making a show of force to remove cows off federal land. Distraction. Look over there.

Good grief. He'll be on probation in a year. Israel has never made much of an issue of Pollard, though many Israelis have. Israel releases prisoners by the hundreds just to recover remains. Pollard was a paid agent, nothing else. Who commited a crime, not treason, that today carries a maximum sentence of ten years. This isn't an issue at all.

Israel has been pressing to extend the talks, imo useless, but what can they do. I think releasing killers is a bigger problem.

Abbas, grow a set, release Sirhan Sirhan.

Demand it, you might be surprised.

Which of Weinbergers words? When asked why the incident wasn't in his memoirs, he responded it wasn't a significant incident. I'm sure the fact that the loyal American, Aldrich Ames, was a part of the investigation into Pollard wasn't an issue.

A century from now this will probably be an embarrassment, minor I hope. Leo Frank. The Al Sharpton pogrom. Both worse.

And for some reason we allow them and the house of Saud to drive a lot of our policy.

It is obvious that bringing up a Pollard release in trade for an Israeli release of Muzzie killers and terrorists is a clever way of screwing Israel doubly. Muslim terrorists get released while conservative support of Israel gets damaged which you can see right here by moronic remarks.....Such as that Israel is telling the 0Zero regime what to do.

Israel gets zero traction under 0bama

“Because that’s what Israel wants.”

Its because this is what 0bungu is shoving down Israel’s throat in exchange for Israel setting free dozens of Muzzie terrorists. In any event I don’t think Israel will take this bait which draws out the Ron Paul style Israel haters on Free Republic

“I get people’s knee jerk reaction but there is more to this story than what has been made public or just hang him from a rope narrative.”

Bingo. For someone who gave away secrets to an ally, not an enemy, he has paid for his crime longer than those who have given secrets away to our actual enemies. Also, there is more to this guy’s incarceration than meets the eye. Just can’t quite put my finger on it. Lots of politics in the background here.

It’s a pity that some conservatives develop bad cases of moral relativism when it comes to Pollard.

He’s traitorous scum who sold our secrets to a foreign government for cash.

In any normal world, he should have hung by the neck for what he did. He’s hoping he only leaves his cell in a cheap pine box.

You’re right, though for anti-Israel conservatives, like liberals, he’s just providing an opportunity to vent existing bias. My guess, Kerry also thinks he’s giving cover to Bibi with the Israeli right.
