If Chick-Fil-A introduces the Hershey Hiway Sandwich, I would probably avoid the place.

Well he did stick his neck out. Having been stuck out, it’s awkward to unstick it.

There’s always going to be this debate in Christendom. Should we get in the public’s face about issues of public morality. I’d say yes, with the caveat that our morality ought to be better than the public’s before we do it. And here’s where the statistics are troubling. No, not as many “gays” in Christendom, but other comparative sexual purity measures are suffering.

I am calm. I would like to know if it is true that he stopped corporate giving to family friendly charities. If he did, then he caved.

That said, I had my first CFA since last summer a week ago. It was good. Hubby and I have been eating Zaxby’s since we tried it last summer. Zaxby’s chicken is better in my opinion.

Wow
Interesting you actually think Time got the story correct.

I don’t see any caving. They’re a restaurant. They sell chicken. They have great service. Their opinion on gay marriage is, in fact, totally irrelevant. They have no role in policy or anything else. The owner just happened to make a comment a few years ago.

He appears to be saying that he’ll not link his opinions with Chick-Fil-A in the future. He didn’t say he’s FOR gay marriage now.

CFA is more expensive than other fast food but I was willing to go out of my way to frequent their establishments. Not anymore.

Not standing up for what you believe because you want to appease someone, in my mind, is caving. He wants in NY and figures this is the way to do it.

Let me know when he makes his NEXT personal statement supporting traditional marriage.

...until then, HE CAVED, as far as I’m concerned.

He didn’t exactly endorse gay marriage; from what I could read, he was saying that he was going to stop commenting about things publicly and worry about selling chicken. Is that caving?

Yes.

Whatever else would be considered a cave?

If that allegation is true (I’m not so sure though) it would be better for him to get grassroots support in New York.

I don’t see anyone caving. Chick-fil-A is in the business of selling chicken. They continue to sell chicken. Their job as Christians is to run an honest business in accordance with their faith. They do that, too.

They are closed on Sundays. They treat their employees well. They give a tremendous amount of money and product to their community.

The owners choose to not engage in divisive subjects because it prevents them from doing what they’re good at unhindered.

If you feel that they aren’t Christian because they don’t scream from the top of their lungs, I sincerely hope you are doing the same.

Are you calling out every percieved wrong you see at the top of your lungs?

Are you forever screaming loud about the failings of others?

If not, why not, since you insist CFA do just that?

Yes.

Corporations on the other side are hardly “caving” An outpouring of support put Duck Dynasty back on the air. CFA got lots of business, including my first ever purchases (and several subsequently), in Cathy’s support I even sent an email of support.

Now this. I won’t be going back.

They have not caved, just slick reporting. He just said he wished he had not been so vocal in the past on the subject, but he is still a good fellow in my book. Runs a retreat here locally and it still is a good clean place for people to relax, our church group got to spend an evening there last year (for married couples only).

It’s funny how this issue has stolen all other issues of Christendom.

If you’ve actually been IN a Chik-Fil-A, it is very notable how servant-minded they are. They are polite; none of this rote “how-can-I-help-you” followed by gabbing it up with a co-worker in some language other than English while you stand there waiting for them to pay attention to you again. Then they bring your stuff out to your table. And if you ask, it’s an unwritten rule you can get as much lemonade (regular or diet) as you want.

This one issue is stealing attention from everything else. I think on balance the devil laughs at the kind of infighting it causes. Every Christian who now refuses Chik-Fil-A is another notch in his hellish headboard.

It really seemed to mean something for awhile to go across town to Chik-Fil-A, proud that they would take a stand. Now they’re just another fast food joint.

That’s so very true, especially when you consider buying by the recipe.

You can't be serious. Don't you know of the money McDonalds has given to pro-gay organizations? What kind of person are you to frequent a gay donating company while staying away from one run by Christians which hasn't compromised, save for giving more in private rather than in public and opening more stores to help spread the Christian message?

I am curious: What motivates you? It's obviously not righteousness.

I’m curious: Do you intend to never again visit or buy something which profits a blue state? Because you would certainly have no integrity if you ever did.
