I am torn about this. One side of me wants Europe to feel some pain for their socialism and spend more money on defense. The other side of me wants America to spend more money on defense and avoid socialism. The way RINOs stand up for things, I bet we get to pay for expanded socialism and a failed military expansion in eastern Europe. So maybe we should just let Europe fail and keep our assests intact.

As usual you have no idea what you are talking about. American troops are the trip wire that keeps a cold war from turning hot. The tin pot czar isn't goint to mess with the US Army. As we have seen recently Putin prefers to beat up the little sisters of the poor.

That's a little unfair. The whole point of war is to gain, at an acceptable cost, what isn't attainable via diplomatic means. That usually means fighting only countries that aren't in a position to offer much resistance. It's not just Russians - it's everybody. It's part of the reason we rear domesticated animals instead of fierce predators for their meat - a superior benefit to danger ratio.

Now, the Russians will see this as a provocation.

Everybody is building up their defenses in light of Russia's moves, this won't be equal to the 435,000 that Reagan put in Europe, but the day we are too afraid to move a few troops to a fellow NATO nation, is the day it is truly over for us.

He is putting U.S. troops there precisely to be a tripwire to get this country in a conflict. The more Americans he can kill the happier he is.

Start the fight, then surrender. That is Zero’s ploy.

This is just an empty gesture. Russia is in Ukraine, it may go into Moldova. Russia is not going into Poland.

All this action does is play into Russia’s narrative that they are being encroached on.

The EU has over three times the population of Russia and far more money that could be spent on defense than Russia does.

Why are we subsidizing these fine folks?

I’m glad somebody decided NOT to let Ukraine join NATO.

One of the reasons the US military had the A-10 Warthogs build in the 70s 80s to counter Soviet tanks in Eastern Europe for this very thing.... The Soviet Union invading Eastern Europe through Poland.

I’ve been to Poland twice. I’ve always admired their work with tile. Thanks for the reminder.

But are these Europukes willing to spend their money and men on their own defense?

Let them rot, you say?

Hmm, not a bad idea.

Considering how we screwed them at Yalta, we owe them.

That being said, Poland needs to expand their military as well.
