Hi, Ma! I’m at the dining room table on Nana’s laptop. Or lap? No! Hmmm....well, nevermind!

She’s sitting here working on a puzzle and waiting for the next load of laundry to get done.

One last song for the evening...same guy....troop song but more upbeat!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nytCf3F_4pc

I’m arrivin’ on the days last train
Steppin’ on the platform tryin’ to see you through the rain
I don’t know the ways you’ve changed since I left
and i really don’t care
I’ve done my tour of duty now I’m home and i ain’t goin anywhere
i taught myself to tolerate the pain
all the loneliness and boredom and the work i did in vain all the work we did in vain
no I’m not the same as i was
but I’ve done my tour of duty
now ill try to do what a civilian does
i promise not to bore you with my stories
i promise not to scare you with my tears
i never would exaggerate the glory
I’ll seem so satisfied here

i been eating like I’m out on bail
collard greens and chicken wings oysters by the pail eatin’ oysters by the pail
making up for those lost days
cause I’ve done my tour of duty
and now I’m going to put you in my family way

we’ll laugh like little children tellin’ secrets
probably cry like old women drinkin’ gin
cause I’ve done my tour of duty and now I’m home and i ain’t leavin here again
I’ve done my tour of duty and i ain’t leavin’ here again

Good Evening, Kathy!

*HUGS*

He did a nice job, IMO. I told Mrs. MacNessa that I wanted that as the Gospel Acclamation at my Requiem Mass.

She just rolled her eyes. :)

America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi!

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Nana’s knees are fine. She’s concerned that it may be time to replace the replacements here in a few short years. The first one is already 10 years old!

Work and fund-raising combine to keep me busy...and Piper is in Ponytail Softball now, so we’re also managing to fit in practices and games. She’s a natural and is having a blast. This is her first season. In her first game she got 2 hits and 3 RBIs!

Now why would she roll her eyes. LOL! I thought he did a great job.

I’ve listened to it several times. Everything doesn’t have to be 100% solemn. d:o)

When The Eagles disbanded in July 1980, Don Henley is credited with the recurring statement that the group would get back together "when hell freezes over". In reality, the statement originally came from Joe Walsh referring to playing the song "Hotel California". Joe was sick and tired of playing the exact same guitar duet with Don Felder almost every night for over 3 years, but the song was such an Eagles trademark that the band couldn't abandon it without crowds rioting, so "things just fell apart", according to Walsh. When the band reunited in 1994 (sans Felder who sued both Glenn Frey and Don Henley for "wrongful termination") the album and Hell Freezes Over world tour was a remarkable success (selling over six million albums, spawning a successful live DVD and enrapturing Eagle fans worldwide). Walsh agreed to reframe "Hotel California" as an acoustic showcase which allowed him to satisfy fan demand and feature his Spanish guitar chops.

This is my ringtone (part 2, that is). One fine piece of music!

BTW, did you know that it’s a felony not to dance to this song whenever it’s playing? Chair dancing is acceptable. ;)
