he Obama administration once again has punted on a final decision for the Keystone XL pipeline, announcing ahead of the holiday weekend it is extending a key review period indefinitely -- a move that could push off a determination until after the midterm elections.

Republicans, as well as red-state Democrats who want the proposed Canada-to-Texas pipeline approved, slammed the administration for the delay. Democrats even threatened to find ways to go around the president to get the project approved.

Notice how the news was quietly released on a holiday Friday, so hopefully no one would notice.

Even the ObamaAdmin doesn’t like their own decision!

With the apparent defections in the Senate, I wonder if there could be enough votes for a veto override. That would be the ultimate embarrassment for that arrogant sack of shit.

Then again, with his apparent cowardice on this issue due to his indecision, he’d probably be happy to have the matter taken out of his hands. Thus far, he seems to be defaulting to his tradition of ‘voting present’, rather than making a choice which will anger people. On one side, you have the envirowackos+moonbat party base(who write big checks), and on the other you have labor, energy interests, and the people at large who would benefit from the jobs in a down economy. Whatever he chooses, someone is going to be pissed.

Personally, I think that this even being an issue demonstrates just how incredibly stupid our country has become. Any sane nation would have already constructed this pipeline because of its obvious benefit. Does anyone believe this would happen in Russia or China?

Some well reasoned speculation over at PJ Media goes:

Obama has put Keystone on hold indefinitely;

Obama thus calms some environmental whackos;

Between now and September or October Obama will find another bone for those whackos; and,

In September or October Obama will ok Keystone just in time for the Senate Dems to have something to crow about just before the election.

That sounds about right to me.

Cui Bono or who benefits from this decision?

#1. The Opecker Princes and Muslim role models for Obozo. A safe bet this decision was funded by the Opecker Princes to keep Canadian Oil out of here and to force California and other left wing states to keep importing Opecker oil.

#2. This is payback to the anti America enviroterrorists.

Obama can say all he wants that he’s pro American.
He’s not, he’s for the destruction of this country.
Keystone is one of many, many examples!

——I wonder ——

For there to be a veto, there must be a vote.

Dingy Harry will not permit a vote. For there to be a vote, Dingy Harry must be removed

In September or October Obama will ok Keystone just in time for the Senate Dems to have something to crow about just before the election.

They could approve it now, then have actual economic activity to crow about.

Everyone keeps thinking, naw, they couldn't actually be so stupid as to put politics ahead of jobs, this is just a decoy until a later u-turn ...

Nope .... this idiocy is what the ObamaAdmin is really made of!

or they have decided the better tactic for dems in tough reelection battles...is to be able to show they are opposing the administration...ie independent minded democrats.

Isn’t it the case a 2/3 majority in the Senate can force a vote, whether the Senate Majority Leader approves or not? Even if there were enough votes to override, I wouldn’t expect the Dem Senators to run over Reid like that.

Funny how Reid justified the use of the “Nuclear Option” because too many Republican Senators were “obstructing” 0bama’s agenda, while he all on his own can use his position as Majority Leader to ‘obstruct’ on a grand scale. The position of Senate Majority Leader is probably among the top-five single most powerful people in the country.
