The GOP is making a bold play for a U.S. Senate seat in reliably Democratic Oregon, where a Republican hasnt been elected to a statewide office in more than a decade.
Republicans back in Washington think theyve found the right candidate in Monica Wehby, a childrens brain surgeon whos raised more than $1 million and put her early opposition to President Barack Obamas health care law at the center of her campaign. [ ]
Wehby faces four other Republicans, most notably state Rep. Jason Conger of Bend, a lawyer whos promoting his conservative credentials and his experience representing a district that, like the state as a whole, favors Democrats.

I can guarantee you if they’re pro-abort, they’re not going to be with us on much else. How many social liberals are fiscal Conservatives ? Those are ideologies at odds with the other.
Although Washington State pretty clearly elected a Republican Governor in 2004. Gotta love that rodent fraud, what would they do without it ?
(Of course, if you removed King & Multnomah Counties from WA & OR, the GOP would be winning most races statewide)
WA and OR and 2 more states I’d like to redraw. Connect Portland and Seattle in one state and leave the other one GOP-leaning.
