Obamacare Exchange Now Asks for Fee on all Insurance Policies

The fee would pay for half of the annual operating costs of Connect for Health Colorado, the state Obamacare exchange, according to Health News Colorado.

The exchange’s latest financial plan comes soon after its oversight board rejected a proposal to hike fees on those who use the website from 1.4 percent to 1.7 percent. Connect for Health Colorado staff has said the increase was needed to keep it solvent.

Board members said staff should look at cutting expenses before raising fees, and many had the same reaction to the proposed $13 million fee, which is being called a “general market health insurer assessment.”

Others call it an illegal tax.

It’s going to fail miserably, like all liberal laws, and when it fails, liberals are going to demand a strengthening of the failed law, which will fail in its turn, leading liberals to demand another strengthening of the law ...

Government reproduces into perpetuity by creating tentacles into every detail of our lives, then finding a way to make us pay for all of the agencies, departments, etc. So now, not only do we have to pay for our health insurance premiums, co-pays, and deductibles (which have increased substantially for most taxpayers), we also have to pay for the state to administer the “improved” health care plans.

Put these deranged LIBs on a Devils’ Island. They don’t deserve to be allowed to continue messing with our lives. They are subhuman insects eating away at civilization and reason.

I am not talking about the critique of ACA. It is the drip, drip, drip of destructive rules, regulations, fees, fines and taxes.
The exchanges were opened full throttle to sign up the ‘uninsured’, yet when the initial phase dies down, do you think they will lay off anyone?
I studied to be a social worker in college because I thought I could help people. I found out that the main job of a social worker is to keep my job as a social worker. The system did not want fewer clients, it wanted more. It became clear to me the government made problems just to hire more people.

Sir, never in my multi year history at FR have I read a post that I agree with more than this one.

Heck, I agree with it more than I agree with some of mine!

Well done.

Congratulations on your discovery! Please spread it around. I worked with a public employee union and I know what you say is true.

I know this has been out and read by many but it's worth posting every time 0bamacare comes up.

Subject: The enormity of World War II

During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, the U.S. produced 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battleships, 48 cruisers, 349 destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines, 34 million tons of merchant ships, 100,000 fighter aircraft, 98,000 bombers, 24,000 transport aircraft, 58,000 training aircraft, 93,000 tanks, 257,000 artillery pieces, 105,000 mortars, 3,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000 military trucks.

We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services, invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany.

It's worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama administration couldn't build a functioning web site.

I’m sure Obama will give them our tax dollars to keep the website going - anything to add one or two more obamacare plans to the tally.

Before ObamaCare there were over 1,100 insurance companies in the health market. Now there are 30, plus there are now 463 counties in the US that have only one health insurance underwriter.

Furthermore, each of those 1,100+ defunct insurance companies had sufficient IT systems, sales and back-office support staff and were all paying claims on a timely basis, backed up by a state regulator who was happy to enforce the letter of the law.

ObamaCare caused the trashing and total waste of all of these system and facilities and has spent billions in a futile attempt to replicate their functions, all in the name of insuring the uninsured.
