BREAKING: Cliven Bundy Responds To Charges Of Racism: ‘The Statement Was Right’
The Right Scoop ^ | 4/24/14

Posted on 04/24/2014 11:40:52 AM PDT by SoFloFreeper

“That’s exactly what I said. I said I’m wondering if they’re better off under government subsidy, and their young women are having the abortions and their young men are in jail, and their older women and their children are standing, sitting out on the cement porch without nothing to do, you know, I’m wondering: Are they happier now under this government subsidy system than they were when they were slaves, and they was able to have their family structure together, and the chickens and garden, and the people had something to do? And so, in my mind I’m wondering, are they better off being slaves, in that sense, or better off being slaves to the United States government, in the sense of the subsidies. I’m wondering. That’s what. And the statement was right. I am wondering.”

It's not slavery in the historic sense, it's more of labor camp imprisonment without the barbed wire. The labor part is being trotted out to vote, protest the cause d'jour, and received their portion "from the man". The return is that their masters get more power, money, and control over their (and our) lives...

Heck of a life...

You’ve missed the point. Mr. Bundy will not be reaching the “thick-witted folk”, as you put it. Racists will be racists.

Whether you like it or not, Mr. Bundy made it everyone’s business when he took this to the public, so to speak. With that action, he assumes a certain level of responsibility to conduct himself in a way that is befitting of his position.

Do me a favor. Go visit a rancher in our area and ask him what his views are about Mr. Bundy’s statements concerning this. Let me know what he says.

You’re mistaken if you think people aren’t interested in this case.

"Our goal is-or should be-to effectively communicate to the general public in order to inspire and persuade."

This means speaking the truth at all times. Political "correctness" is anything but "correct". People know the truth when they hear it, they live in it every day. What did Mr. Bundy say or imply that wasn't truthful?

I think the statistic I saw was 40% of black men enter prison at least once.

Prison isn’t much different from slavery.

no one of prominence will defend him.

Just guessing that Herman Cain, Dr. Ben Carson, Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder and a whole bunch of other prominent black communicators completely understand what Bundy is rather clumsily saying. And they would never accuse him of "racism" for saying it. As another FReeper said above, it's just part of the "conversation" that the Libs would rather not have.

The next Cliven Bundy needs some media prep and clean-up before going public.

The current Cliven Bundy is now worthless to the pro-freedom cause, and is in fact doing it damage. He needs to go away asap.

Great, now the media has something to report that will take all attention away from the hussein scandals.

You’re making a false assumption. You can be forthcoming and truthful without being “politically correct”.

I believe Mr. Bundy was baited. His situation has nothing to do with race relations. He got played. As a result, his credibility has diminished in the eyes of some who were interested in his plight. Furthermore, he may have given those talking heads ammo to use against him in order to nullify Mr. Bundy’s message.

You got give him credit for one thing, he says what he thinks and doesn't give a hoot what anybody on either side or the press thinks about it.

Then why did he feel the need to 'clarify' his statement?

You did not answer my question. What was not true about whatever Bundy implied or said?

If true, he missed a wonderful teachable moment.

“Are they truly free? What is the difference between depending on the government for your sustenance, without Freedom and depending on one person for your sustenance without Freedom? What makes the government and the Democrat Party a better task master?”

Something along those lines would have said roughly the same thing, but turned it around on them.

Absolutely. He's not a professional public speaker or debater. He's a rural rancher. Anyone with his stature and background would eventually say something the leftist could use and run with.

This is exactly what the leftist and those in big controlling government wanted...They needed this badly...

Discredit, distraction and deception...This is what they operate on.

There's a world of people, including here, that are falling for the *leftist spin* on what Bundy said.
It didn't sound racist to me, but was his opinion of the plight a lot of blacks find themselves in.
To talk about the problems blacks are having is not racist and those problems are getting worse, simple fact.

I few of our friends and families are ranchers. I haven’t talked to them about Mr. Bundy, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the thought of him as an idiot right about now.

FReepers who start barking to the Lefty "Racism" dog whistle need to ask themselves:

What other things have the Lefties trained me to salivate over?

I agree with Bundy , it’s a good question .

Applies to some , certainly not all , but DEFINITELY applies to some . Many ,mostly urban and never having served in the military types .

There is way too much tolerance in this country for the intolerable

I have no idea where you live. However, where I live we have farmers and commercial fishermen who have been putting up with Federal government crap very similar to this for years and I know very well where they stand.

As for this racism nonsense, I don’t know who enticed Mr. Bundy to talk his way into a trap but since the story seems to have originated with the NY Times, it’s not hard to see what they were up to. Get the unsophisticated old rancher to speak in plain English, then put the racist spin on it for all it was worth for the benefit of the dullards. It’s the same stunt they pull on TV when the topic is gun control. Trot out some backwoods drooler to give the NRA point of view. Works every time.

“Huh? Nobody deserves to be a slave. Plenty of people deserve to be in prison.”

Ok but 40% (??) of young black men ‘deserve’ to land in prison at some point?

I’d say violent offenders deserve prison. Of course.

I’d say some other folks (burglars, etc) deserve prison. Of course.

But some 18yo black kid caught with drugs on him? They throw him in jail for a couple years, and what’s the end result? Is that guy sitting in jail for 2 years ‘Better than slavery?’

If we gave that kid a choice of spending those 2 years outdoors vs. remaining locked in 7’ cube, which would he choose?

I think each prisoner would need to decide for himself how enamored he was of sitting in a cell.

Now that we have Eric Holder springing everybody from jail, I guess this debate will be moot.
