SEATTLE — Seattle Mayor Ed Murray has scheduled a news conference for Thursday to announce a plan to raise the city’s minimum wage to $15 an hour.

**SNIP**

Committee members representing business and labor could not agree on issues like crediting tips and benefits against the $15 minimum. And council member Kshama Sawant revealed another hurdle -- she said there has been little talk of automatically increasing the minimum wage with inflation.

“If going forward the new minimum wage does not have a cost of living increase attached to it every year of the phase in it's not going to work out, Sawant said.

It's okay to tell the socialist to sit down and shut up. Dingy Harry recommends it.

Takeout food, especially fast food, will rise dramatically in price. I also predict that hotel rooms will become more expensive and hotel maid service worse.

Go for it...$100 per hour would be fair. Less would be mean-spirited.

Who the hell do these corrupt, commie politicians like this jackass think they are? Where do they get off telling someone how much they are required to pay an employee for a day’s work? If I had a business up in S***hole, Washington, I’d be closing it down right about now.

And how much are their taxes going to have to go up to cover this?

Min wage should be $100/hr and increase 10 percent every year.
It would be “an act of love”.
And good for the economy.
All those evil Mom&Pop small businesses sitting on mountains of cash....

Duh?

All the business in Seattle is going to come over to Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, etc. And we will welcome it.

The true socialist believes that businesses exploit their employees, and have a lot of money, and that they can easily pay this.

The true socialist is out of his mind.

60 to 70% of the urban folks are totally clueless.

Seattle should make that greedy broad, and all the greedy politicians get paid the maximum wage of $15/hr!

If I had any idea how to pull off the kind of vote fraud liberals do, I'd get busy helping Seattle vote in a $20.00 minimum asap. The result would be an example worth sharing with the rest of the nation.

It will be in your side of the lake soon. For the first time that I recall, East King Co. voted lock step with Seattle (Lear Jet Liberals have infiltrated). The rest of the state was totally out of play based on the ideology of the population east and west of Lake Washington

Seattle has bigger problems...

http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2023429420_bertharepairsxml.html

While the state pitched in on the original costs all overages are squarely on the City of Seattle.

They will need to raise taxes to cover this.

$15/hr. Wow... what is the rent for a Lake Washington houseboat? I think I might move my business there so I can find a local Trayvon Martin and let him do computer work for $15/hr. Great business decision for me. I'll make money.

do I need a /s?
