The Obama administration plans to use tens of millions in federal financial aid as leverage to reward teacher training programs that produce teachers who routinely raise student test scores — and to drive the rest out of business. Education Secretary Arne Duncan will announce the revival of a push to regulate hundreds of teacher preparation programs Friday at a town hall meeting with White House policy director Cecilia Muñoz. He plans to release a draft regulation by summer and aims to enact it within a year.

One of our children struggled mightily with Math in seventh grade. The teacher was terrible, but there was nothing we or the school district could do about it.
She was a veteran teacher, a member of the NEA and Black. The students who couldn’t afford a tutor were simply stuck. That’s public school education in the USA today. Let’s see Obama fix those situations.

War looms between Israel and Syria, Israel and Iran, Israel and (fill in blank.) Turkey is becoming radicalized. The US economy could overheat and die at any moment. China is threatening Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and (fill in blank.) What is Obama concerned with? Oh, education; one of the many things that is definitely not his job.

My son had a very similar situation back in the early 90s, only it was a black English teacher, the only black person in the entire high school. He made the mistake early in the year of correcting her grammar. My son was a very good student but barely passed the class.

The reason the test scores are already sooooooo bad is that the federal gubmint already HAD their hands in the demise of the educational program in this country. (”I’m from the gubmint and we’re here to help you”.
The gumbint (in particular odumbo) needs to stay out of it all together.
