Wednesday April 24th marks the 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. That day also marks another year thats gone by where the Turkish government has not recognized the slaughter of 1.5 million Armenians as a genocide.

The Armenian Genocide was one of the most compelling human rights crises of World War I. Many historians talk about how what happened in 1915 perhaps helped inspire Adolf Hitler, three decades later, to carry out the atrocities of World War II. In a speech where Hitler was preparing to invade Poland, he is quoted saying: Who, after all, speaks of the annihilation of the Armenians? That quote is still relevant to this day because it highlights the denial of the Armenian Genocide- an enormous crime against humanity.

Amazing what people are capable of once they learn to dehumanize others. I talked to a Muslim many years ago (before 9/11), and was surprised when he said in an offhand sort of way that people who don’t believe in God are lower than dogs. He was probably really referring to non-Muslims. Granted atheists can often be immoral and even despicable, but at least in our religion we’re told not to hate our enemies.
What goes on NOW is not new... they have been up to this for a very long time.

Exactly. Unfortunately, as you can gather from some of the responses, some Americans just don’t get it.
