Rep. Joe Barton said Friday he was close to introducing a sweeping proposal that would overhaul the nation’s immigration system.
The plan will include a path to citizenship for undocumented children and a mechanism to give legal status to adults in the country illegally who have not committed other crimes.
Barton, R-Arlington, said his bill would be ready in a month to six weeks.

And do these other crimes include ID theft, tax evasion, phony or stolen SSNs, working illegally, etc. Very few would qualify if these “other crimes” are counted.

False Personation of a U.S. Citizen (18 U.S.C. § 911). Illegal aliens often present themselves as U.S. citizens, an act punishable by up to five years in jail, a felony. This law is often cited in immigration prosecutions and may involve, for example, an alien claiming U.S. citizenship to his employer.
Fraud and False Statements (18 U.S.C. § 1001). It is common for illegal aliens to make false statements to the government or on official documents. An illegal alien violates this law when claiming to be a U.S. citizen on an I-9 Employment Eligibility form and faces a fine and up to five years imprisonment.
Social Security Fraud (42 U.S.C. § 408). This statute has been invoked where an illegal alien provided a false Social Security number for the purpose of acquiring a job, where an illegal alien used a fraudulent Social Security number for the purpose of acquiring a driver's license, and when an illegal alien used a Social Security card belonging to a citizen in order to obtain Section 8 housing, for example. Violation of this statute can result in a fine and/or imprisonment up to five years. The court can also require violators to provide restitution to the victims.
This Backgrounder does not address crimes of violence, property crimes like vandalism, or other acts like gang activity and drunk driving. The focus is on statutes that come into play when a person enters the country illegally or overstays a visa and becomes employed.

The numbers in the first chart come from Census Bureau numbers based on decennial census numbers as revised by the annual Current Population survey numbers, i.e., the populations of the 25 counties and the number of foreign born in each county.
So what numbers don't you believe and why would the Census Bureau cook the books on them. Are they understating or overstating the numbers and for what purpose?
There may or may not be Census Bureau manipulation of certain data re Obamacare or jobs, but it is tinfoil hat stuff when you start talking about population statistics based on census data. What is their political agenda in manipulating the population numbers for the counties and the estimated foreign born population? And exactly how are they manipulating it?

As someone who worked 36 years for the federal government in the military and as a civilian, I find your characterization of the USG off base. I stopped working for the federal government in 2000. It was not a "criminal facist government" during my 36 years. Elected officials, political appointees, and a few career employees have acted in a criminal fashion, but the vast majority of government employees are patriots and many have made the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of their duties.
The point of the data I provided is to demonstrate that immigration will make the Dems the permanent majority party. Every year we bring in 1.1 million PERMANENT LEGAL IMMIGRANTS, 87% of whom are minorities as defined by the USG. They vote Dem two to one. If anyone needs any convincing in this regard, look at CA.
The nation’s immigrant population (legal and illegal) reached 40 million in 2010, the highest number in our history. The U.S. immigrant population has doubled since 1990, nearly tripled since 1980, and quadrupled since 1970, when it stood at 9.7 million. Of the 40 million immigrants in the country in 2010, 13.9 million arrived in 2000 or later making it the highest decade of immigration in American history, even though there was a net loss of jobs during the decade. And those are Census Bureau data, which probably understate the numbers.
Legalizing the 11 million illegals here coupled with another estimated 11 million family members who will join them thru chain migration on top of the 1.1 million who enter legally annually means that we will add 34 million new permanent immigrants over the next decade. This is insanity. We need to reduce drastically legal immigration or the country is finished. Amnesty just hastens the process.
Barton succeeded Phil Gramm in the House in 1985. He’s been there a long time and has more often than not been a useless one. At least at one time he was pro-life, but I don’t know if he still is.
Because Barton et al are closet liberals, they are willing in JFK’s words to “bear any burden, pay any price” to advance the liberal agenda. And with much support too from Republican primary voters, most of whom lack basic knowledge and understanding.

This POS is my congressman. I have voted against him in every primary and will skip voting for him this year. This betrayal is the end for me ever voting for him again. He did this after the primary was over. He has a very safe district and is a self absorbed creep. He cheated on his wife and now he is cheating on us.
