(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch announced today that on April 18, 2014, it obtained 41 new Benghazi-related State Department documents. They include a newly declassified email showing then-White House Deputy Strategic Communications Adviser Ben Rhodes and other Obama administration public relations officials attempting to orchestrate a campaign to reinforce President Obama and to portray the Benghazi consulate terrorist attack as being rooted in an Internet video, and not a failure of policy. Other documents show that State Department officials initially described the incident as an attack a possible kidnap attempt.
The documents were released Friday as result of a June 21, 2013, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed against the Department of State (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:13-cv-00951)) to gain access to documents about the controversial talking points used by then-UN Ambassador Susan Rice for a series of appearances on television Sunday news programs on September 16, 2012. Judicial Watch had been seeking these documents since October 18, 2012.
The Rhodes email was sent on sent on Friday, September 14, 2012, at 8:09 p.m. with the subject line: RE: PREP CALL with Susan, Saturday at 4:00 pm ET. The documents show that the prep was for Amb. Rices Sunday news show appearances to discuss the Benghazi attack.
The document lists as a Goal: To underscore that these protests are rooted in and Internet video, and not a broader failure or policy.

Their policy failed and people died because of it. Then they knowingly made up a false cover story for the express purpose of hiding their failure.
No, really? Heh heh heh...
Ya don’t say...
What difference does it make?
Never mind. She was on the talking pts brainstorming committee.
wait.what.
can you explain....TIA
What if a "Smoking Gun" went off in the woods. Would anyone in the MSM hear it?
Based on my knowledge of physics I can give a definitive answer: NO.
But ya gotta admit, as fast as she picked the Benghazi party line up in the debates she may as well have been.
Republicans need to demand David Rhodes resign as President of CBS News!!
"and not a broader failure or policy"
Acquiescing to calling it a terrorist attack would've been the obvious, easy way out, but the reality is that it wasn't just terrorist bad-guys! These were Barry's Arab Spring friends that whacked a ready-to-self-exile Col. Muammar Kadaffy!
This was a breakdown in their "foreign policy" with the Feb 17th Martyrs Brigade from within Ansar Al-Shariah, and ultimately, the Muslim Brotherhood, with whom AlQaeda's leader Ayman Zawahiri, just April 27, 2014, declared solidarity (surprise--not!).
The Benghazi compound had been guarded by the February 17th MB. It was surely an inside job! And buying back heavy weapons given to Kadaffy's enemies? Telling Kubic to stand down months earlier, if we'd known about it could've given us the first clue about what Barry's leading from behind would choose to do come 9/11/12. CIA involvement? For what purpose, precisely? How much money did Barry had over through Stevens' abused corpse?
The whole Libyan nightmare truly was a supreme cluster *%#$ of foreign policy, not even some terrorist attack we should have responded to by fending off.
This was the double unfriending--double cross of Barry's co-religionists, whom he was giving every benefit, even to the point of demurring any and every reprisal as they struck back!
HF
It turns out it was her boss' brother, Ben Rhodes!
OF course they were. NOTHING upstanding about the POS State Department.
What will it take to get a Special Congressional Committee with subpoena power to get to the bottom of this?
[Rhetorical question.]
Several people, at least, should be serving long prison sentences for this.
!
“Several people, at least, should be serving long prison sentences for this.”
Along with the Arkancide of Vince Foster, but that “smoking” gun failed to produce any accountability as well.
How are all these boxes (soap, ballot, and jury) working out for us?
Candy was sitting down to a lunch of a dozen boiled eggs, a rasher of bacon and a large iced tea...
Boehner is all over this. Not.
