Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, a target of U.S. sanctions sparked by the Ukraine crisis, said Tuesday that those sanctions would boomerang against America's space effort and essentially told NASA to take a flying leap ... on a trampoline.

"After analyzing the sanctions against our space industry, I suggest to the USA to bring their astronauts to the International Space Station using a trampoline,"

The average corrupt Russian schmuck bureaucrat is about 15,000 times smarter than the President of the United States. Pretty freaking pathetic.

And how many didn’t see this coming?

I swear, everything Obama touches or takes an interest in goes to crap.

Better pull Atlantis down off the ceiling and get her ready for flight.

"Better pull Atlantis down off the ceiling and get her ready for flight."

Not happening. This is all fine with Obama; more money for Muslim outreach and he gets to blame the Russians for further destruction of the US space program.

0bama should have seen this coming but he doesn’t want a manned space program.

Normally I would comment on something like this, but words are failing me.

1969-The USA lands a man on the moon and brings him back safely.

2014-The USA does not have the capability to send its own astronauts to its own space station in earth orbit.

Does anyone else see a problem here? Did somebody burn the ships? Why?

At least in this country one could always ride even if it was in the back of the bus. Our space car is “in the ditch” to borrow a phrase.

We decided building a welfare state was more important than space exploration.

One could see that Russia would eventually blackmail the US when they had the monopoly on the ticket to the station. Of course, those that cared about the security of the US could see it and those that don’t didn’t give a damn.

LOL? Well, yes...in one sense (for a moment).

Unfortunately this portends what is to come.

That which I’m referring to is a foreign policy which drives the 2 largest strategic competitors together, and domestic policies that make the prospect potentially catastrophic and needing not a single bullet.

The question is whether it’s intentional or not...(rhetorical, imho)

I think this “tiff” is all just for show, a diversion, while both nobama and putin are pulling some behind the scene deal. This is the “more flexibility after the election” that nobama inadvertently said in 2012.

Then again Pooty is not stupid and is striking while the iron is hot with our stupid WhiteyHut africaized gubmit.

Besides the junky ass Ruski part of the Space Station is falling apart. Our guys stuck up there are definitely SOL.

But of course that’s a sidebar. There’s always more money to be made when there’s a public charade that manipulates markets and public opinion, nyet?

But it would be ‘solely’ based on profit & power, not based on any mutual understanding between the 2 leaders...and likely the result of manipulation of this administration.
