"It is not the hill I think we want to die on. That is my opinion."

You may speak for yourself, but not for me. I will never give an inch when it comes to the wicked, lunatic delusion that two sodomites messing in each others' feces is "marriage." If that means never winning another election, so be it.

The marriage issue was settled long ago. A man and his wife shall cleave together and become one flesh. That, in case it needs specifications, is one man and one woman.

Anything else is a mockery of marriage, and marriage is the fundamental foundation of the family, and ultimately of society and culture.

Tinker with the foundations and it doesn't matter if the house is divided, it'll collapse.

"It's tempting to put one's head in the sand, but that's not going to make the issue go away...."

Put my head in the sand? Nope. I just understand that queers abusing one another is not and never will be "marriage."

Where do you stand on the issue?

The deconstruction of gender, sex, and marriage destroys nations just as effectively as war, famine, and plague.

Haven't you noticed?

Therefore somebody has to fight to reconstruct these basic human realities, or we will be gone, with nothing left to conserve, and nothing to say about it when a successor nation which hasn't destroyed its sexuality moves in to create their own society--- nothing to say but Inshallah.

The problem with doing something just to fit in is that people get hurt if that something is dangerous.

We could just fit in on abortion...but babies will die.

We could just fit in on welfare...but people’s dreams will be ruined as their initiative is killed.

And we could just fit in on gay marriage...but the unnatural act of homosexual sex will still cause disease and mental disturbance and kill of homosexuals about 2 decades earlier than their peers. And the diversion from real, potentially procreative marriage will injure the young by diluting recognition that THEY are why society protects and favors natural marriage.

Young republicans are wrong. They are not conserving the important values of natural sexuality and family safe sanctuary.

The Five RINOs (really the Four RINOs and one open lib) on FNC the other day were gushing over gay RINO Carl DeMaio. The Establishment is clearly trying to marginalize the Christian Right’s influence in the GOP.

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

If that means never winning another election, so be it.

OK; I'll send you the bill for any new taxes after the Democrats get elected.

I'm still waiting for the answer to my question. Where do you stand on the issue of queer marriage?

I quit paying attention when I realized that my opinion doesn't matter.

Time was (e.g. 2004) when rallying socons on this issue helped the money men who rule the GOP get what they want and care about (i.e. tax cuts). Nowadays, the money men have decided that the socons have outlived their usefulness and abandoned them. Shrugging it off helps keep my blood pressure down.

The hill I want to die on? Personal property rights.

Common problem around here. I’m just trying (perhaps a futile endeavor?) to remind conservatives of what we are trying to conserve.

Politics is mostly about cui bono — who benefits. Gays benefit from gay marriage directly and tremendously. No one pays a personal cost for gay marriage. This creates a tremendous mismatch and permits concerted minorities to overcome (or as here eventually convert) attenuated majorities. What conservative issue fits that profile?

"I quit paying attention when I realized that my opinion doesn't matter. "

Yet you still won't state what that opinion is.

"Time was (e.g. 2004) when rallying socons on this issue helped the money men who rule the GOP get what they want and care about (i.e. tax cuts). Nowadays, the money men have decided that the socons have outlived their usefulness and abandoned them. Shrugging it off helps keep my blood pressure down."

That's all it takes for you to give up on your principles? I don't want you in my foxhole.

At some point in the future, the GOP will officially announce its support of queer marriage. I'll never go along with that, and when they do, I will never cast a vote for another Republican.

One day I'll stand before Christ, and while I have plenty of things to account for, supporting an abomination won't be among them.
