JOHNS ISLAND - Charleston County Republicans met for a barbecue stump and straw poll where incumbent U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham was a popular target of those trying to oust him.
"We have six weeks to defeat Lindsey Graham or we are going to have six more years of Lindsey Graham," said Upstate businessman Richard Cash, one of six Republicans challenging him in the June 10 GOP primary.
"He can have his arm around John Kerry for another six years if you don't get engaged and get him out of office," added Spartanburg state Sen. Lee Bright.

He'll probably have body parts entwined with Kerry even if he doesn't get reelected, not that there's anything wrong with that. Who do you think put the "effin" in Kerry? (Even, so it's better than letting him continue to have a vote in the Senate)
Unfortunately I don’t know any of the 6 challengers, so I don’t know who would be best. But I hope some of the weaker contenders drop out before the primary. Otherwise, they’re likely to split the anti-Graham vote 6 ways, and Graham might win. That certainly has happened before.

Those of you who wonder where the "Republican by day, Democrat by night" quote came from will find it here.
Meanwhile the rest of the media acts as if Linda is coasting to reelection and is highly popular.
Oh, I sincerely hope they do. And here's why. It's the only way any of them have a chance to win.
It doesn't work that way in SC. Graham has to get 50% in the primary to avoid a runoff, and all the primary opponents are united against Graham in the runoff.
ANYBODY but the POS incumbent RINO.
I wonder how much difference it will make if his runoff opponent is a woman.
I think more women would vote for the RINO or moderate in a runoff if there are 2 men.
South Carolina has a runoff. In which case, usually, the more the merrier -- in terms of keeping an incumbent below the 50% line.
Then, come runoff time, it's up to the opposition to unite behind the one challenger.
It isn’t a coincidence that large numbers of candidates ran against John Cornyn in TX earlier this year and are running against Boehner on Tuesday in OH and Graham next month in SC.
The political machine designs it that way for big, important primaries including presidential ones.
