WASHINGTON, DC – House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) announced today that he has chosen Representative Trey Gowdy (R-SC) to serve as chairman of the select committee to investigate the 2012 tragedy in Benghazi, Libya.
“With four of our countrymen killed at the hands of terrorists, the American people want answers, accountability, and justice. Trey Gowdy is as dogged, focused, and serious-minded as they come. His background as a federal prosecutor and his zeal for the truth make him the ideal person to lead this panel. I know he shares my commitment to get to the bottom of this tragedy and will not tolerate any stonewalling from the Obama administration. I plan to ensure he and his committee have the strongest authority possible to root out all the facts. This is a big job, but Rep. Gowdy has the confidence of this conference, and I know his professionalism and grit will earn him the respect of the American people.”
NOTE: Last week, in response to the release of emails showing the White House was more involved in misleading the American people than previously known and the revelation that the Obama administration had withheld these documents from a Congressional subpoena, Speaker Boehner announced that he was establishing a new select committee to investigate the events surrounding the attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012.

Gowdy and the committee needs to hire professional investigators to ask the questions that air on C-SPAN so that the hearings are seen as apolitical. These hearings will prime targets for the progressive advocate media to select soundbites that help their cause, and hurt the opposition. As I recall, that’s how the Watergate hearings were organized.

The first thing Trey needs is to have the power to file direct charges instead of relying on Ø’s just-us department. Going throught the DoJ would be a waste of time. We all know how WithHolder would gum up the works. The second thing he needs is to be left alone with total power to act in any way he deems neccessary. Just turn him loose and see what happens.

Yesterday on all the Sunday TV News shows the democrat talking point was that “...there were 21 previous attacks on American Embassies/Consulates and how come you Right-wingers aren’t all jumping up and down about them? Because they happened under Bush, that’s why!”
The answers they don’t want to hear is:
-No US Ambassador died.
-Four Americans (including the above) died fighting and two were in radio contact begging for help—which never arrived.
-The Obama administration blamed a little-seen Internet video that insulted Islam and spontaneous riots thereof.
—Hillary Clinton told the dead ex-USAF NCO’s parents that “We’re going to get this bastard that did the video!” days after the incident when she KNEW it was not a spontaneous attack but one planned by a terrorist group.
-What were 30 CIA agents doing that NIGHT in Benghazi? No one has answered.
-Why didn’t we send ANY help? LET military officers explain without administration coercion against them.
