Socialism is reaching its unavoidable conclusion in Venezuela where President Nicolas Maduro has begun introducing food rationing. A new food card will be issued to citizens called the “Secure Food Supply” card that is aimed at combatting hoarding and reselling. Shoppers apparently buy food which is heavily subsidized and resell it on the black market to secure profits.

“Could never happen here. How can you hand out millions of ration cards when it is impossible to hand out voter ID cared?”

It did happen here. I was a child during WWII and everyone had a ration book. I thought that was normal. My parents had gas ration tickets, tire ration tickers, sugar ration tickets, and I believe cooking oil ration tickets and mom had to turn in cooking oil after it was used, I think it went back to the grocery store. We had shoe ration tickets.

My mom canned and if one canned, one got to use more sugar ration tickets at a time. I remember sugar bags stacked on top of each other at the house and they had turned into bricks as in those days there was no central heat/air, so the sugar gathered moisture and turned into bricks - I can remember breaking up sugar by hitting the bag with sometime hard to help break it up. I think maybe coffee was rationed but not positive about that one. I do remember a cup of prepared coffee was five cents and when it went to ten cents, my dad had a fit.

I was young so I don’t remember where those ration books came from - where they got them.

Hopefully, all of those Latrinos will starve, the Takers and the Trough Feeders, and the jackbooted “military’.

Let’s hope they all get hungry enough to kill and eat all the druggies first.

Venezuela - nice land, baaad people.

Those who insist on retaining their “Latrino” “culture”(term used very casually) will stay mired in the collectivist mire that Central/South America are so fond of.

Funny how the net effect of socialism is always shortages and rationing, isn’t it?

Just think, they are applying socialism to our medical care here. And there will be...shortages and rationing... but Palin got pilloried when she pointed that out.

Funny thing, Camille Paglia was also one of the first to point that out also.
