Look at a map of the EU and/or NATO expansion over the past 25 years and overlay a map of Nazi Germany circa 1942. Very similar expansion.

In that context, the notion that Russia is acting aggressively by holding the line with the Ukraine is absurd.

I wouldn’t place any laurels on modern Europe’s treatment of its Jewish citizens either.

What happens before the U. S. expands?

There is a legitimate election process, that is scheduled months in advance. There are many observers. The election results come in around 55 to 45%, or something sounding reasoned and normal.

You don’t see any difference between this and Hitler crossing borders with tanks and infantry?

Like a lot of western liberals you impose impossible standards on ideas and personalities you oppose. International observers were invited to witness the peaceful referendums in Eastern Ukraine but none went, and now the lack of observers is used as "evidence" of an illegitimate process.

Likewise a comment posted on the similarity of territorial expansion of EU/NATO over the past two decades and that of Nazi Germany is seized upon as a comment on the similarity of actions used to achieve those ends.

Well yes..., what other comparison should there be?  If people vote to become part of the E.U., isn't that difference than being over run with troops and tanks?

Why should I be critical if the free people of those nations voted to join the E.U.?

If the E.U. called elections two weeks before they were held, and claimed 98% of the voters had voted to join the E.U., I would be her saying no they didn't.

The German Chancellor was just elected to her third consecutive term and has been party leader even longer, but I don't see you holding Germany to the same standard you're attempting to impose on Russia.

That's called western liberal bias.

Maybe what's really bothering you is the sight of all those unarmed 'terrorists' lining up to cast their vote against the EU puppet regime in Kiev.
