Americas founders, largely distrustful of centralized power, created several checks and balances into the U.S. Constitution to help ensure that one person, or one group of people, would not be able to unilaterally exert his or their will over the American citizenry. First, the federal government itself was divided into three separate and distinct brancheseach holding the capability (and responsibility) to check the power of the other. Second, the Bill of Rights was made part of the Constitution for the protection of individual liberties. Third, the free and independent states of the nation retained their sovereignty and independence after the central government was created (by the states), with the Tenth Amendment specifically recognizing their authority and jurisdiction over matters not directly delegated to the federal government.
It was also assumed that the freedom of the press and the freedom of religion would help the citizenry be sufficiently informed and inspired to keep the would-be despots at bay. And, of course, We the People are recognized as being the ultimate guardians of liberty by the recognition that to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. (Declaration) The consent of the governed was given teeth by the constitutional recognition of the peoples right to wield the power of the voting booth, the jury box, and, as a last resort, the cartridge box.
What has become increasingly obvious to a large segment of the American populace is the complete unwillingness of the national media to hold the federal government accountable. Neither do Americas pulpits provide the moral leadership necessary to maintain good government. The freedom of the press and religion accomplish precious little today in the safeguarding of liberty. And it is also absolutely clear that the three branches of government...

It was the media that stopped focusing on federal agencies, and not a federal agency that stopped focusing on federal agencies. (Which wouldn't make sense.) In was also seen in the initial comment: It was a wake up call that even reached the major media. They were soon forced ...
Other than that explanation about the media, I absolutely agree with you.
Gillispie was Reid’s guy in the field. I think they approached it as a 3 birds with one stone approach.
First, If they set up the BLM for killing, then they could justify a brutal show of force to kill the Bundy’s and anyone standing with them.
Secondly, this would give Obama justification to impose martial law and have his wet dream of disarming law abiding Americans.
Third, Harry Reid gets the land and completes his deal with the Red Chinese.
It is my opinion that Reid through Gillispie betrayed the BLM by withholding info such as Militia firepower and numbers. Told Bundy that the BLM was standing down.
As to who positioned the BLM in the bottom of a riverbed in an indefensible position it’s anyone’s guess. The BLM figured it out real quick that they were the lambs while two wolves were deciding whats for dinner. I hope they never forget it, they too were betrayed.
Thanks! And a great source, both of ya! :-)
Ah, besides the Bundy event please inform me....What is needed is 500,000 - 1,500,000 to stand toe to toe in DC and close it down till they restore our liberty.
And each person should be carrying, just in case.

Be happy to try to inform. Will ping you to an article I posted about a bunch of folks who are trying to do something positive in NH. Unfortunately one of our resident trolls decided to camp out on the comments. But the basic idea was a pretty good one.
One thing I suggest you think about is whether DC is even all that relevant. Most of your law enforcement and freedom killing measures are at the state and local level. That’s especially true of gun control. There hasn’t been a significant piece of gun control legislation out of DC in about 20 years. The really miserable crap is coming out of the states like NY and CT.
