A woman in Florida who didn't like her neighbors has been arrested for allegedly having their mobile home demolished.
Ana Maria Moreta Folch of St. Augustine told a heavy equipment operator that she owned the trailer and wanted it and its septic tank destroyed.
That wasn't the case, however, as the real owners arrived at the scene when the demolition was underway on Monday.
The St. Johns County Sheriff's arrest report says Moreta Folch wanted the trailer bulldozed because she thought its occupants were unsavory and she suspected they had broken into her car.
For the construction crew's part, she was able to convince them that it was her trailer because she had a key to the trailer.

Construction company is so sued.
Guy should have asked for a copy of the deed.
They certainly share responsibility for not ensuring the woman owned the home, so they should be buying her a new one comparable to the one she owned.
If I were the company, that would be my straight-up offer.
Hopefully the terrible neighbour will do jail time over this.
Straight-up vandalism, having done it without a demolition permit. County will not be pleased. A permit would have revealed the true owner. Construction company is so out of business?

Oh, my mobile home before they demolished it? Well, you know elvis presleys home at graceland? My mobile home was an exact replica of that. Get to work.
Whats that you say? Theres no way my little mobile home was the size and shape of graceland? Well, good luck on proving that since you demolished the evidence.
They should start with an offer to replace the mobile with a brand-new one, larger and nicer in every respect than the demolished one.
The real problem might be the septic tank. Depending on how local regulations have changed since the original was installed, a new one could be $25-50k all by itself. Or, it may not be possible to install a new one for any price.
The best of all outcomes would be that the contractor would hook her up to an existing sewer at no charge. If not, a new septic, meeting current regulations is in order.
The neighbor is in deeper legal doo-doo than the contractor. I would want this treated as a criminal act and try get her a year or two in the local lockup.
Might have been doing a public service.
Lesson for the neighbors. . . Don’t be unsavory and don’t Eff with the lady’s car.
The victim is SOOOO not guilty!!
They probably didn't need a permit to demo a non-permanent "structure".
The moral thing and the smart thing to do would be to offer her an upgrade, but the legal thing to do would be to replace it with an equivalent.
Offering her something nicer than what she had could go a long way to offsetting the possibility of a lawsuit.
why is a permit required for a trailer? it is registered as a vehicle.
No it is not it has a homestead tax on it. Mobile ho
es are not ‘trailers’ like in the sixties. Mobile homes are are listed as improvements on property tax.
Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the state. Here double wides come with titles and are assessed as personal property. Modulars are assessed as real property.
This is why it’s not a good idea to live in something that has wheels.
