CNN host Michael Smerconish did his best to diminish the House Select Committee investigating Benghazi during an appearance on ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos on Sunday, May 11.
Appearing as a panelist, Smerconish claimed that " think nothing from Benghazi has received traction apart from the GOP base. It’s really the abortion of the 2014 cycle

The abortion happened in 2008 when millions of morons voted Obama into power and did the same thing again in 2012..gee..for a party that supposedly “Cares” about people, they sure do show their true colors..its not about caring about people, its about “Caring” about those who they can gain off of politically..Dems should just close their eyes and pretend Obama has an R next to his name, then they will care

Yes he was the 5AM to 9 AM guy at WPHT (used to be WCAU) in Philly, 50,000 watt, clear channel. He was most celebrated nationwide for his championing the case of policeman Daniel Faulkner’s widow against Abu Mumia Jemaal, who has been a cause celebre for the left for 30 years , since Jamaal executed Faulkner on a city street in Philadelphia, and was on death row for decades while Hollywood types canonized him. Smerconish was a Republican, I’d certainly say further to the right than Specter who was R at the time, or Tom Ridge, PA’s republican governor; he had hosted some rallies for George W. Bush around Philly in conjunction with the 2000 RNC convention that nominated Bush. Chrissy Matthews started using Smerconish on his show and that seemed to awaken Smerconish’s ambition to go national ; after he came out for Obama his local audience atrophied, and he positioned himself as a centrist on a CBS affiliate-based group of stations with a moderate number of outlets. Apparently, that didn’t work either and he’s now on Sirius, never to be heard from again except for these kind of cameos.
Someone needs to remind Smerconish that it takes two thirds of the Senate to bring the responsible individual to justice.
Short of that, the best we can do his pile mud on him. Hopefully, the renewed hearings will dredge up heaps of it!
I heard Smerconish shut down a Birther years ago. The reasons Smerconish gave for refusing to discuss it included that there would be black riots if Obama were removed from office.
So that’s how we are governed? By the fear of black (or any) riots?
At least it’s nice to know how the new constitution works.
He now has a show on CNN too - Saturday mornings, IIRC. He is a big boring “moderate.”

I think Benghazi is really Obama’s geopolitical Chappaquiddick. Obama and crew thought it politically expedient to let his friend, Ambassador Stevens, die. Somewhere down below, Ted Kennedy is smiling and saying to Cerberus, as he is walking him, that he was very prescient in picking Obama because he recognized as kindred spirit. Obama probably learned how to save his career by reading about what Kennedy did to Mary jo Kopechne.
Very bizarre. Four Americans died - undisputably and unnecessarily - in the attack and our diplomatic outpost was simply abandoned. But it’s an issue about the legality of which there can be differences of opinion?

Barry and Hillary's aid to the Al-Qaeda linked factions Boko Haram, Ansar Al-Shariah, the 17 February Martyrs Brigade, Syrian "rebels", Dr. Morsi's and Huma Abedin's Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, and Walid Shoebat's cousin regarding the video (the very one Hillary claimed, "We had nothing to do with" but actually had very much to do with!) is sufficient under the NDAA to imprison them both without further legal process.
Both Gen. Dempsey and Panetta indicated before a Congressional committee that they supported at least some of these activities (instigated by Barry and/or Hillary).

I think many of the Dems who are attempting to prevent the hearing don’t understand the depth of this treason. Pelosi knows the stakes, sort of, but I don’t think Obama and his crew have let her into the details, and she’s too dumb to ask questions. She’s the faithful secretary.
I don’t think all Dems are treasonous, but they’re ideologically blinded and naïve, and I think that when the facts emerge, even some of them will realize what a terrible thing has been done to us by this administration.
The parents who lost those four brave men at Benghazi will be interested to hear that it was through abortion - about the level of insensitivity you’d expect from a sh*t-eating twerp like Smerconish.....
