So we’re reduced to “crossing our fingers” and hoping that our enemies screw up? Is that how we won World War II and the Cold War?

Yes. :)

Russia assumed that it could keep up with the US during the Arms race and debted itself into oblivion.

However, I cannot say that Putin will make any fatal mistakes. He’s a very smart man and probably quite learned in Russian history. If any Russian leader makes any errors, it probably won’t be him.

That’s it, we’re triple crossed.

Will Obama or Putin mess this up first/worst? Only an intentionally oblivious Obama-worshiper would bet on the US to win this one.

I agree. Putin is just basking in the sun of a weak and rudderless USA, under the helm of Barky Obumbo.
I suspect that tweaking Obumbo is now his favorite game.

I agree.

Russia and Putin may be “F-up” but the current resident in the White House is rapidly destroying my country using the Lying Monkey Party (aka Democrat). Putin to his credit does not publicly promote baby killing faggetry, God mocking and treason to his own nation!

pop Vladimir Putin like a zit

If Putin would pop the Zippy and Jarrett like a zit, he would be doing us a wonderful service.

Russian History Is on Our Side

That may be true but I think most people are wondering just what in the hell is our side.

Unfortunately we have Obama and the people who elected him - twice.
I’d say history is on Putin’s side.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a foolish man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of Idiots such as those who made him their president.”

Russia probably did more to defeat Germany during WWII than any other one nation.

Climate Change was on Russia’s side, both against Hitler and Napoleon.

I am betting EU will fall apart before Russia—and with it NATO.

SO, Tina Brown’s Radical Left website thinks Putin will eventually screw himself???

So, to protect the messiah, and hide the incompetence of this whole affair, we’re down to WISHING Putin to “Screw Up”???

He isn’t Obama, after all.

Russia won’t screw this up under Putin. It will be screwed up by whatever or whoever follows him after he’s gone. There is no presumptive dynastic succession and like most dictators, he is not grooming anyone to replace him. Dictators don’t like the potential competition.

The Soviet Union sided with Nazi Germany literally to the day Hitler invaded them. There would have been no modernized Luftwaffe, tanks or rocket program without the assistance of the Soviet Union during the inter-war years and they also divided up Poland. I have no sympathy at all for the Russians and what happened to them in that era. We could have bested the Axis without the USSR, although it would have been much more costly and hard-fought.
