Boehner ‘Nudging’ Jeb Bush to Run in 2016
Roll Call ^

Posted on 05/12/2014 1:39:02 PM PDT by ClaytonP

Speaker John A. Boehner of Ohio said Monday he is “nudging” former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush to run for the Republican nomination to be president.

Though he stopped short of endorsing anyone early in the process, Boehner named Bush, son of President George H. W. Bush and brother of President George W. Bush, as a favorite.

“We’ve got a lot of good candidates out there. If you look historically, our best candidates have come from the ranks of governors, of former governors, and yes, Jeb Bush is my friend, I think he’d make a great president, and I’ve been nudging him for some time,” Boehner said while speaking in San Antonio to a luncheon sponsored by several area business groups.

Boehner also was asked about Ohio Gov. John Kasich, whom he called a friend and golfing partner, but he said he would not feel any obligation to support him simply because he is from the same state.

“We’ll let them all sort it out. I’m not endorsing anybody,” he said.

Boehner, in Texas on a fundraising swing this week while the House is on recess, also weighed in on the new special select committee on the 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, and on Republican priorities on a long-stalled immigration overhaul.

On the Benghazi committee, the speaker said the panel’s work would not be impeded if Democrats decide to boycott.

On immigration, Boehner said most House Republicans support an overhaul of the immigration system, as long as the work is done step-by-step, with the border secured first.

Boehner said House Republicans don’t trust President Barack Obama to enforce laws as they are written and passed on Capitol Hill and suggested the White House needs to take steps to repair that relationship.

The Republican party was never conservative really. Even President Reagan was not exactly conservative in all ways. Heck he is the first one to raise taxes, support abortion in California and is the only President to give us immigration. However, he did become a conservative over time and next to the ones we have had after him, he looks like the most conservative of them all.

These RINOs that want Jeb to run are just plain stupid. Another Bush absolutely would be a laughing stock. All the illegals will vote democrat once people like Jeb give them amnesty. The NY Times wants Jeb to run because they know he will be so easy to beat. Why oh why are the establishment types so incredibly stupid?

Well since Romney, McCain and Dole won, then why not stick to a winning strategy... oh wait.

You can take the democrat out of the party BUT....
It’s damned hard to take the democrat out of the democrat..

Same with ex-democrat libertarians.. there remains nastiness left in there..
If you think I use nastiness as a metaphor you’d be WRONG!..

To even BE a democrat smacks of residual or obvious nastiness..
Reagan was ex-democrat...... there was nastiness in there..
Yes... not all republicans are indeed republicans..
They WANT covertly or overtly central givernment..

Reducing the States to be go-fers... dufusses... or “bitches” of the federal givernment..
Their minds cannot contemplate the sever error of unbridled central givernment..
OR worse think central givernment CAN BE bridled.. IT CANNOT..
Proved by thousands of years of history..

With local givernment a dofuss of State givernment and the States dofusses of federal givernment..
The opposite of that scares the bejesus out of them..
Thinking three givernments are wasteful and inefficient..

Yes.. they are indeed MORONS.. and are no doubt completely WRONG about other things as well..
NO... not smart people in error BUT morons and lazy thinkers as well.. and/or evil to the bone..
that need and deserve a tyrant.. Yes, libertarians too..
