Iran has unveiled its own copy of an American stealth drone it captured in late 2011, claiming to have cracked the “secrets” of the bat-wing craft and added weapons capabilities.
Today, Fars News Agency reported that while Iran’s duplicate of the US RQ-170 Sentinel drone was smaller, it also had a “bombing capability to attack the US warships in any possible battle.” The story in Persian was headlined: “America’s nightmare has become reality.” State television showed footage on Sunday it said was of a US aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf filmed by an Iranian drone
The drone replica was unveiled at an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) exhibition on Sunday, where Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was briefed on how the drone, its systems, and structure had been reverse-engineered. He called it a “sweet day.”
The stealth replica would “soon take a test flight,” an IRGC officer said on Sunday. Aerospace chief Amir Ali Hajijadeh said today that they are working on two more models of the replica drone.

Replicating the body is probably fairly easy, if you are using fibreglass or something.
However, that doesn’t mean much if they are only going to show off their creation and not fly it.
Is this the drone with the suitcase nuke in it?
Can it fly? Or will it float.

Why couldn’t the US have engineered a destruct mechanism into the drone to prevent this capture from happening?

Weren’t our first drones for target practice? Seems like the Iranians are almost at this first step.
There are about 190 countries in the world and the country at the VERY top of vapid, lying braggarts when it comes to weapon matters is IRAN —they’re FAMOUS for this and have been for quite some time.
Liberal photoshopping, fake “stealth airplanes”, “flying submarines” —the lying list from the Mullahs is very, very long, and often it’s so obvious that it’s embarrassing.
It is even possible that the CIA deliberately crashed this drone in Iran IN ORDER to have it stolen and copied —probably along with lots of fake stuff and secret off switches.
The only wild card is that Obama hates the American military, so...it’s not 100% on this particular one.
The mandatory full-body purdah interferes somewhat with the aerodynamics, however.
Even NON-PILOTS will catch a few design impossibilities, after 5 or so minutes of really looking.
It will fly just after the Russian space shuttle copy of ours flies.. oh wait
Lol. The materials used are so far beyond Iran that it isn’t even funny. It’s like a caveman trying to forge a katana. Exactly like, in fact.
