Chuck Hagel: Transgender Military Ban 'Continually Should Be Reviewed'

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said in an interview over the weekend that the ban on transgender service members in the military "should be reviewed."
The comment was prompted by a question from ABC News' Martha Raddatz on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," who alluded to the findings of an independent commission in March led by former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders. The commission found "no compelling medical reason" to maintain the ban.
"I do think it continually should be reviewed," said Hagel of the ban. "I'm open to those assessments, because, again, I go back to the bottom line, every qualified American who wants to serve our country should have an opportunity if they fit the qualifications and can do it."

I figure the reason he’s pushing the transgender stuff is so he can tryout a new wardrobe or something. Maybe a wig. Whatever it is, he’s taking the “Be Whatever You Can Be” thing a little too far. IMHO.

Yes. A friend shared with me a memo he drew up right after a long and alcohol lubricated talk with a fellow USMA classmate who got out of the active Army and went to Georgetown U Law. He now works for the biggest of the K Street layer-lobbyist firms and is proud of it. According to this Wizard of Smart the only thing that matters is transforming the ‘regnant culture’ of the US from a ‘white male Christian hegemonic’ one to one in which ‘fairness and diversity and equality’ trump ‘antiquated notions of personal liberty and honor’. Also the US population has to be made ‘look more like the world’ (code words for lots of unskilled, dark skinned , unassimilateable actors of love to be let in wave after wave) . This is so the US can be ‘transformed’ into a society and country that can be led to be part of the emerging global governance regime of a borderless world. This guy thoroughly believes this stuff and is proud to be one of the ‘vital few’ as he calls himself helping ‘shape the future’.
