Ted Cruz Suggests Democrats 'Can't Handle the Truth' on Benghazi

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) suggested that Democrats could not handle the truth on Benghazi, quoting Jack Nicholson from the movie A Few Good Men during a floor debate with Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ).

“The response of the administration, and sadly the response of Senate Democrats, has been partisan stonewalling, rather than trying to get to the truth. In the immortal lines of Jack Nicholson, it makes one think perhaps they can’t handle the truth,” Cruz said.

Cruz requested a Senate vote to join the House select committee to investigate the terrorist attacks in Benghazi on September 11, 2012.

“This body should join with the House of Representatives with a joint select committee to get to the bottom of what happened, why we didn’t protect Americans, why we didn’t stop this attack, and why we haven’t captured the terrorists who killed four Americans, including our Ambassador,” Cruz said on the floor.

Cruz’s motion was blocked by Menendez, who derided the effort as a “political trick” used by Republicans to “fire up their base.”

It is obvious that the Democrats know that their President and President-To-Be were up to no good in Libya. They also know that Obama provided weapons, funds, armored vehicles and night vision equipment to our enemy.....Al Qaeda. That is treason.
The thing that stings them the most is that the Conservatives warned the Democrats that Obama was too inexperienced for the job. We were right. And at the outset, investigators knew exactly who "leaked" Plame's CIA affiliation: Richard Armitrage. He had never been told her affiliation was "covert".

But yet, the investigation went on forever, and Libby was prosecuted only because something he said was later proven to be false.
