Ohio man who was shot in eye with Taser at traffic stop is suing police

Last May, Kelly was asleep in the passenger seat when his friend was pulled over for drunken driving on Interstate 71 between Cincinnati and Columbus, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

When Ohio State Trooper Bryan Cook woke Kelly, he was startled and began flailing his arms, according to the lawsuit.

Fayette County Deputy Clinton Sines then drew his Taser, opened the passenger door and shouted for Cook to get out of the truck and show his hands as he grabbed the back of Kelly's sweatshirt and tried to pull him out, the lawsuit says.

The lawsuit says Sines was apparently unaware that a still-confused Kelly was restrained by his seat belt.

"I'll taze you," Sines told Kelly as he continued to yank Kelly from the truck, according to the lawsuit.

When Sines' grip slipped, Kelly rose. That's when Sines fired his Taser, striking Kelly in the right eye, where a Taser prong became lodged.

Kelly fell back into the seat and covered his head with both arms, and Sines fired a second jolt into his eye, the lawsuit says.

These are the prongs fired from the Taser gun and it is they that deliver the charge.

The good people of Fayette County need to get hit with a judgment that bankrupts the county and forces all assets owned by the county to be sold off. No, the kop who commited the assault and battery won’t pay because kops are special. But the taxpayers need to start being held responsible for the dangerous animals they insist on having to keep them “safe.”

Maybe anyone who goes outside their house for a walk, drive or run should protect themselves from the moron cops by having a dog with them that way at least you’ll have a chance to say something while the cops is busy shooting the dog for no reason.

But did the cop go home safe and sound that evening?

The whole column was wasted on a bunch on nonsense about some civilian sleeping. Who cares!!!? There was NOTHING, NOTHING about if the cop went home safely.

Worthless story.

Drunks can be stupid, dangerous, and difficult to manage.

Indeed they can.

At least it wasn’t led that passed through the “sleepy” passenger’s eye socket.

The first LEO walks around the vehicle and asks the second LEO, "Does he have a seatbelt on?" The other says, "I don't know, let me check."

The officer that fired the Taser into his eye should be headed to a Grand Jury.

Sines’ behavior definitely appeared impetuous.

Nowadays, you do not have to do anything to get that treatment. just make contact with them. They no longer know how to treat individuals that are not like themselves as human beings.

Everything, in the cops opinion, is a crime today.
