Its an F'ed up world.

At least we seem to have one of the good guys in Detroit. Tigers manager Brad Ausmus is Jewish and is pro Israel. Says he wasn't raised as an observant Jew but has started to embrace his heritage in recent years.

This is not surprising. As time moves further from the date of the Holocaust it becomes more like a myth. It’s hard to believe this could ever happen. That’s why we have the Holocaust Museum in Wash D.C. To remind ourselves that this did happen and could happen again, specially if the Muslim stronghold gets stronger. Their already is a growing antisemitism in Europe and even in America. People have be very careful who they vote into government.

A good percentage of the world’s population doesn’t know anything outside their neighborhood or village. There are still a lot who can’t read.

There are huge swathes of the world where it’s still 978 A.D., except for an occasional cell phone and the glimpse of an airplane. Of course they don’t know about the Holocaust: it hasn’t happened yet, in their time zone.

As Woody Allen pointed out in one of his movies, before WWII there were organizations in Germany, “Jews for Hitler” — as pointed on at this link, Hitler’s anti-Jewish patter was regarded as just posturing.

It was amusing that Laos was the least Judeophobic. :’) Also note that the more anti-Jewish the respondent, the larger they thought the world’s population of Jews was (less than a fifth of one percent).

In The Rise there are some comments from German Jews who thought Hitler’s ideas were awesome.

It was amusing that Laos was the least Judeophobic.

Laotians hate Vietnamese. It's unlikely that more than a handful of the population of Laos has even heard of the existence of Jews. And the other stat is also interesting. Apparently, once you define a "threat," you've got to magnify it.

I suspect that most of the people who don't know about the Holocaust also don't know about World War II, either because it didn't happen during their lifetimes or because they were so isolated they didn't know that local turmoil was part of a global struggle. When you can't read any language, you're "outside time," in many ways.

And the other half hopes that knowing about it will prevent another one. But history shows that mans doesn't learn form history or is unable to extricate himself from the forces that have lead to man-made catastrophic historical events.

So man is caught in a zugzwang.

On one hand, history and historical significance are generally forgotten relatively quickly because generations turn over about every forty years.

One generation passes away, and another generation comes...There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after (Ecclesiates 1: 4, 11).

On the other hand, there's a fundamental flaw in man that cannot be corrected apart for the saving grace of Jesus Christ. That uncorrected fundamental flaw causes man to repeat the same mistakes over and over again, even though he may be aware of those historical facts, partly because he cares more about the immediate present than some long-lost historical "lesson". Unfortunately, the elements of flawed personalities and the immediate needs of the popular culture of that day that lead to the holocaust are definitely capable of being repeated.

The issue is really the hearts of men. The answer, individually and collectively, is turn to our Savoir Jesus Christ who is the only one that can fundamentally change the hearts of men.

are we talking about the Democrat Abortion Holocaust? because that one (which is still ongoing) has now killed 10 times more innocents than the Nazi’s did.

I’m sure that there was some Jews that thought in the beginning Hitler would only target, “The Bad Jews”, and thus they were exempt.

Sort of like the events recorded in the Bible.
