A South Carolina woman cannot get her medicine because Obamacare says shes a man. The woman has been denied her meds for weeks. WLOS reported:
The Washington Free Beacon reported:
A family who was forced to buy healthcare is distraught after their daughter was denied medication because of an Obamacare error.
Shelby Higdon needs her medication, but has been repeatedly denied it because the information in her BlueCross BlueShield health insurance account lists her as a male, not a female.
When it was time to get my medicine, they told that they couldnt give it to me because on my insurance I was registered as a man, Shelby told WLOS.
Her mother, Kris Hitt Hidgon, shares her daughters frustration. She has called healthcare.gov probably about eight times.
Each time Kris calls healthcare.gov, the website promises her that the problem has been solved, but when the mother and daughter call their insurance company, they receive the same response.
They have painstakingly battled healthcare.gov for over three weeks to have Shelbys gender changed on her account, but healthcare.gov wont budge and have been rude to the Higdons.
Like Doctor Daneeka in "Catch-22." He was listed on the flight crew of a crashed plane and so the Air Corps declares him dead. The fact that he was standing right next to the officer who affirms his death when the plane crashed is irreverent. The fact that he continues to insist that he is alive is ignored. His wife receives his benefits checks and seems to move on with her life. When he writes to her she asks the Army if they have made a mistake and they assure her that the letter is simply the work of a "sadistic and psychotic forger." After all, they have an official paper declaring him dead so it can't possibly be from him.
She must have voted Conservative.
THIS AIN’T FAIR!
IF GUYS CAN/MUST GET ABORTION PILLS THEN WHY IS SHE HAVING TROUBLE?
All she has to do is demand a sex-change (or ‘gender-change’ in New-speak) operation. The operation could be completed (and medical staff paid off) before the clerical error could be corrected. She would then officially be a “she”. Perhaps, she could even work out a deal, to split the fee for the “operation” that never took place.
I’m just waiting for the folks who will scream this is unfair to trannies.
lolz
wait.... ObamaCare discriminates against women listed as men? What do trannies have to go through?
They get preferential treatment.
So if she called herself a trannie, the bureaucratic problems should end, eh?
Either that, or be gay-married.
I lived in a state where my (very chaste) buddy and I, who have no interest in being “gay,” could get gummit and other benefits for being gay-married. It’s only our sense of dignity that keeps us from gaming the system that way.
Sloppy database design of Kafkaesque proportions. And the bureaucratic morons see the data on their screens as reality.
I think there’s an Aerosmith song lurking in this story.
if the govt thinks she’s a man, she must be a man.
“i’m sorry i can’t fix that for you here, you need to mail a form to the dept of homeland security and it’ll take 6-8 weeks to get a correction letter. now please move along sir.”
“but i’m not a man, i’m a woman, isn’t it obvious?!”
“legally i can’t get in trouble if i call you what’s stated on your id.”
Yep... it's in the computer so it has to be right. :)
The only thing she can do is get a sex change, I’m sure the gov’t will pay for that, it’s the gov’t’s fault, so that would be the only authorized solution, of course she will have to wait in line.
They scraped the bottom of the barrel for their employees-——diversity mattered more than intelligence I assume.
.
If a doctor has prescribed it for her and she really needs the meds, then why doesn’t she just pay for them herself. That is still an option, but like many people we forget we have that option. The meds may be expensive and then it’s a matter of priorities.
So is Moochelle - I've seen the video that proves it! Why isn't she(?) tweeting to help this poor woman? Oh wait; is the SC woman white? Nevermind. This is designed to save the death panels some work.
“This poor woman is caught in the bureaucratic gears.”
If you have not seen the movie Brazil (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088846/) you should.
