WHO BREAKS A BUTTERFLY UPON A WHEEL? The outrageous prosecution of Dinesh D’Souza
American Spectator ^ | May 23, 2014 | By Daniel J. Flynn

Posted on 05/23/2014 3:05:55 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Dinesh D’Souza faces more than a year in prison for giving away his money. Guilt lies with the law and not the lawbreaker here.

The conservative author pled guilty to violating campaign finance laws, which is another way of saying he opened up a lemonade stand without a license or ripped the tag off a mattress. The case stems from D’Souza’s 2012 donations through intermediaries to a friend’s senatorial campaign. Congress, made up of incumbents, has placed restrictions of dubious constitutionality on the amount individuals can legally donate to candidates. They haven’t, tellingly, placed any such limits on what they can legally raise or spend on campaigns.

The candidate D’Souza donated to, Wendy Long, lost the fundraising race 40 to 1 and the spending race 15 to 1 to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. She lost the vote race by a mere 3 to 1 margin.

One could say D’Souza foolishly wasted his money on a lost cause. But does his unwise unselfishness really make him a criminal deserving of the penitentiary?

The guilty party, to his credit, admits the facts presented against him. The pursuing party, to their discredit, never explained why they seized on D’Souza’s two illicit donations when much grander transgressions of campaign finance laws by Harry Reid, the Obama campaign, and others have gone unnoticed by federal prosecutors.

D’Souza violated the law. The law violates his rights.

This criminal regime will imprison enough patriots to create a revolution of hardened Constitutionalists that will destroy the menace of progressivism. The left is sowing the seeds of its absolute destruction.

We live in a nation where there are a million laws, yet they are only selectively applied to those who challenge those in power. Does anybody really think that Hillary Clinton, on a good day, has done much worse than what they charge D’Souza for?

John Corzine’s scam cost innocent Americans $1.6 billion but he got off scott-free and is living in a villa in the south of France.

Dinesh will probably end up with a year in jail though he has not yet been sentenced.

The really shocking part about this was some badge-licking freeps saying, “I am disappointed in Dinesh”.

Under THIS Prez a conviction and especially politically-motivated jail time is a BADGE OF HONOR. This is his finest hour.

I will automatically read all his articles and see all his (hopefully very many) movies.

They imagine they’re making him into a Nikoula-Nikoula but instead they’ll only succeed into a conservative, svelte and honest Michael Moore.

I look forward to the coming day that Dinesh’s name is as well known and his income as high as that abdominous, lying slug.

The Regime will jump for joy if Dinesh gets prison time, but ya know what they REALLY want..?

They want it such that ANY time Dinesh is mentioned in some public forum they ALSO have to say something about his FELONY.

He’s brown, slight in stature, articulate as hell, yet CONSERVATIVE and that bugs the hell out of Lefties and they don’t know what to do. They want him to be fat, or white, or wearing a huge belt-buckle, or carrying a big gun, or plaid, and he has NONE of that.

He doesn’t fit into any of their conceptual categories that make it easy for their stupider intellectual brethren to understand “what Dinesh’s DEAL is”.

They want it so that they can forever introduce him as,

“The FELON, Dinesh D’Souza...”

The best way to restore freedom is through the provision provided for us in Article V.

All the guns and bullets of Obama’s brownshirts cannot stop the states from restoring their proper place in a federal republic. When that happens, and it must, power will once again be diffused between the states and the government they created.

If he has to go to jail, it will give him time to get some rest and write another great book.

Most state governments aren't any more honest than the Fed.

Scheme to bypass Electoral College quietly advances

Last month, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the National Popular Vote, or NPV, bill, making his state the 11th jurisdiction to enact the plan. With the passage of the bill, the interstate compact now has 61 percent of the 270 electoral votes needed to put it into effect.

So, why don’t they just fine him the amount of his illegal donations. Harry Reid was allowed just to pay himself back the money he illegally gave his grand daughter. Turbo Tax Tim was allowed to pay his back taxes with no penalty. Obama just doesn’t comply with campaign reporting laws. This must seems to be a gesture of poking an American in the eye because they can. He made a gift to people who wanted to make a donation. Shedding light on the biggest hoax put upon the American people in the history of the country must be punished.

Daniel Flynn:

"Hi, I'm Dan and I'm yer b*tch..!!!"

The Flip Tree works as a not-so-nice metaphor for [Dinesh's] recent intellectual output. He used to write scholarly books that elevated the curious common man. He has since delved into the genre of pseudointellectual quickies that rely on provocative theses that debase readers through ideological flattery and degrade author by so transparently chasing dollar signs.

What part of 2016 was pseudointellectual, Dan? You don't like that his movie turned out to be an earner? Commerce isn't dignified? THIS from a guy who writes for BREITBART...?

Danny boy the b*tch needs to stick to high-powered intellectual stuff like FOOTBALL, I think.

Scumbag.

Yeah, wasn’t Bill Clinton allowed to pay back taxes on forgiven debt from the Whitewater fiasco? No harm no foul. Unless you are an enemy of the state. There will be no prosecution of IRS officials who broke the law, or the VA, or the State Department, or the... I have to stop, else I will go insane.

I don't agree with your statement, but so much the better if they are.

If you are right, they will be most covetous of power and may be counted on to defang the tyrannical federal courts and administrative agencies.

No. It’s not better. Corrupt government at any level is just that, corrupt. A government power grab on any level is dangerous. Government needs claening at all levels.

I find it funny that someone who uses the (to the average Joe Sixpack, at least) obscure metaphor of "breaking a butterfly upon a wheel" would accuse someone else of being a pseudo-intellect. Hey Flynn, you could've said "crush a mosquito with a sledgehammer", and you wouldn't have sounded like some geek trying to impress us with his knowledge of ancient torture methods and arcane literary references.

In other news, Conyers is back on the ballot thanks to another lawless Friend of Barack.

You imagine a government of angels. James Madison addressed that impossibility in Federalist #51.

"If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself. A dependence on the people is, no doubt, the primary control on the government; but experience has taught mankind the necessity of auxiliary precautions."

We’ll see. When the number of unemployed (by which of course I mean people what do not have jobs that used to and would like very much to have another one, at any pay rate) who have or are losing their homes, their cars, the ability to find and eat food, when that number gets big enough, Jug Ears better have a plane ticket for his marxist ass back to Kenya.
