New York City mommies with money to burn are hiring professional organizers to pack their kids’ trunks for summer camp — because their darlings can’t live without their 1,000-thread-count sheets.
Barbara Reich of Resourceful Consultants says she and other high-paid neat freaks have been inundated with requests — and the job is no small feat.
It takes three to four hours to pack for clients who demand that she fit all of the comforts of home in the luggage, including delicate touches like French-milled soaps and scented candles.
At $250 an hour, the cost for a well-packed kid can run $1,000.
“I talked three people off the camp ledge,” Reich told The Post. “For a lot of mothers, particularly when their child is going away for the first time, it’s very stressful. Clients will say, ‘I need to touch and feel the sheets for softness.’ ”
“But these are the kinds of things they can control. They’re paying $10,000 for sleep-away camp, so they shouldn’t feel so bad for their child.”
Two years ago, she had one trunk request. Last year, she had five trunks, and this year, she has packed 10 trunks — and it’s not even Memorial Day.
Professional organizer Dayna Brandoff of Chaos Theory has at least four camp-packing requests on the books and expects at least 15 more in June.
Some of her clients have requested she recreate their child’s bedroom so they can feel completely at ease in their air-conditioned bunks.

These are the people that will be among the first to die if there is ever a serious catastrophe. They will expect they can swipe a credit card or write a check and others will take care of them. And they will find out that when it comes down to it, you need to be able to take care of yourself.
Scented candles and extra shelving at camp is not a way to make sure your child can care for themselves. *shudder*
For $1,000 I’ll whip the rug rodent and tell him to pack his own bag!!!
Remember how in 2012 we were supposed to grovel to these folks as our saviors, they were the ‘job creators’ after all.

When I think about it, a complete collapse doesn’t sound bad at all.
These people are frankly, dross and the reason our culture is such a mess. They want someone else to face the reality of earning a living for them and this sheltered way of life is why they are so impractical.
Keep those mirrors handy, sister. As even our ideas of honest work would have been scoffed at by forebears.
These parents obviously have no clue why they should be sending kids to camp, and it’s not just so Mommy and Daddy can take their dream vacations (probably separately). My kids packed for camp themselves, starting at age 11. They found the list of what they needed and checked to make sure they had everything. I went through their lists and asked if they had everything, but it was their responsibility to pack, and I didn’t physically check on whether they did it correctly.
The difference is I’m not raising dependent democrats. My kids are the productive ones that they are counting on to protect and care for their inept parasites.

When I was a child living in a blue collar neighborhood in Chicago in the 40s and early 50s, our backyards, the streets & sidewalks, open fields, our bikes, neighborhood ball games with friends, whatever our ingenuity could muster in a way of how to spend our summer at home with our friends in the neighborhood. Going to the neighborhood Chicago Boy's Club as it was known back then to learn how to swim, do crafts and attend teen club dances on Friday nights, or going to the neighborhood park district to play and watch ball games, play tennis, have picnics. We never heard of anyone going to summer camp, and no family in our neighborhood could even afford to do so, had we known about such things. We had some wonderful times, full of great adventure and fun. It was sweet to get up each summer morning, have our breakfast and then run out to play away the summer. Or maybe our parents would drive out into the country to visit my aunt & uncle and their pets, drink well water, eat country style food and sleep in total peacefulness that the country provides, while breathing cool, clean sweet air. Great memories of a city kid in a country town in Illinois.
I'm so thankful for the wonderful years I spent as a youth...and very sad that this generation and those to come will never know what it's like to enjoy simple, uncomplicated, inexpensive pursuits and pleasures with friends and family during summer vacation, right in their own neighborhoods.
They're sending their children to camp for the whole summer in order to be rid of them. If paying $1,000 for packing help makes them feel better about it ... cebu, it's only money.
I went to Bible camp for a week every Summer. I can still remember the excitement when the list of “items to bring” came in the mail...I spent hours getting things ready BY MYSELF...starting when I was about 8 year old.
Thread count on sheets?? We slept on 30-year-old mattresses, in metal bunk beds (probably left over from some WWII barracks). That was not counting the days where we went “into the field” when we slept on the ground in pup tents a two-mile hike from the “main” camp (one night a tornado came through just a 1/2 mile away).
The first year, a horse stepped on my foot; which I’m sure in retrospect resulted in a broken toe...but after a good crying session I just “got over it.” I’m fairly certain that unless a limb was actually severed, our teenaged camp counselors would have remained completely unconcerned. And, we loved it.
No one on FR knows anyone like this, indeed 99.9% of Americans don’t know anyone like this. BUT reporters for the Leftist media do.
That tells you a lot about what drives the news.
If it’s their honestly earned money I have no problem with this. I think it’s silly, but they are providing a job for somebody else. That’s capitalism. What I do have a problem with is that these people more than likely vote Democrat, and they don’t see the irony in this scenario.
Can’t the maid do it?
