McConnell suggests ObamaCare exchange could survive repeal

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is suggesting that Kentucky's health insurance exchange could survive repeal of ObamaCare, the law that created the marketplace.

In a statement, McConnell campaign spokeswoman Allison Moore said Kentucky should "decide for itself whether to keep" the exchange "or set up a different marketplace" if the healthcare law is repealed.

The comment follows criticism of McConnell last week for arguing that Kentucky's exchange, known as Kynect, is not connected to the Affordable Care Act.

The healthcare law created a system of exchanges, including Kynect, where consumers in each state can purchase coverage, often while receiving assistance from the government.

As long as it isn’t mandatory

Boom!!! That is the key snippet of your post. The only way any of the exchanges will survive is if it is mandatory to use them. Once no longer mandatory, more efficient, private offerings will rush to fill the gaps and the exchanges will dry up and blow away as so much tumbleweed. After the midterms, I expect government agents will be stopping on our doorsteps to check on the status of our govt. healthcare choices...

The question is can America survive with McConnell as majority Leader and obama as _resident? America might but the GOP won’t.

what if they let you shop across state lines?

That would be up to the states to decide. The important parts are (1) it's not mandatory and (2)it's run by the states

McConnell considers the TEA party to be his enemies, and the Democrats to be his "colleagues."

And yet you have a cadre of GOP-e party hacks right here on this board that will lecture you and tell you that we MUST vote for McConnell rather than let the Democrat win.

The Conservative cause is better off with Grimes in his seat. At least we know who the enemy is instead of having to watch our back around a "leader" who declared war on us and vowed to 'crush us'.

The Republicans are all over the map on Obamacare. Mitch is up for re-election so he has to at least pretend that he is still for repealing it, but they are all setting the groundwork for saying that its now “too late” and too much has changed to repeal it. Yet another expansion of the Welfare State that our “conservative” party wrings its hands and accepts without much of a fight.

Somehow it’s not too late to change marriage laws after thousands of years though

Yes. This is exactly what conservatives have been proposing, for years. Especially as the antidote to 0CommieCare :-/

Or better yet: the Republican holds the door open for the Democrat, all the while telling the folks back home, “I’m opposed to this.”

Yup. It’s not a difference that helps actual humans (the life-form outside the beltway), but the OP asked what the difference was, and I was pointing out that the [official] National Socialist was actually the more forthcoming of the two, despite Bitch’s equally atrocious policy preferences.

That is exactly how McConnell bamboozled the GOP electorate in the primary with aid and help from the local media.

Now that same media is going to turn on the Turtle and ensure Grimes wins his seat - and deservedly so.

Civ, this is a crazy article:

http://beforeitsnews.com/politics/2014/05/breaking-report-circulating-that-justice-john-roberts-signed-off-on-obamas-arrest-for-treason-2624510.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=feed

The source article, at B4IN, is thepatriot.com or something.
It outlines 25 reasons for impeachment for treason, citing each Constitutional violation.

If the leadership in the House and Senate REFUSED to kill ObamaCare by cutting off it’s funding -

- What makes any sane person believe that these same Ruling Class stooges will allow impeachment articles to come to the floor or go to trial??

One might as well believe in skittle-farting unicorns.

Does anyone realize that the VA providers can’t be sued?

Is there any realization that providers of Obamacare will likely be like military medical providers in that they CAN NOT be sued for malpractice?

Well, you’ll note I did preface with ‘crazy’ article..

However, I’m a kernel o’ truth kinda freeper. Might be hearsay, but I’ll keep it in mind when seeing unusual political about-faces.
