They’re very people oriented.

Mine are pests sometimes because I can’t walk through the pasture without them stepping on the backs of my shoes.

They’re pygmy goats and it cracks me up to watch them come barreling at me, full speed on their short little legs when I call their names.

:D

They didn’t get the burro’s goat.

They got the goat’s burro.

Somehow there is a new figure of speech in here.

Since he’s no longer on this earth he doesn’t own any.

We had a long history of bitter disagreements of how animals should be treated.

My mom just hates them.

I’m not sure where *I* came from.

:)

When he discovered we’d been sneaking up on the ridge after dark to feed the goat, he threatened to shoot him if he caught us doing it again.

So...we carefully calculated how much the goat would eat/drink by dawn and leave no “evidence” of us having fed him.

Critter commandos!

:D

Oddly enough, my mom interceded when dad wanted him back and convinced him to let me keep him.

Never could figure out why she did that.

Words cannot do it justice.

Oh that would be great! I would love to see it.

Thinking about the goat got me to thinking about some of my other favourite lonely animal stories. And I just shared them with my FRiend.

This is about Solo the Wild African dog that adopts jackals for family and becomes friends with hyenas:

Then there was Lady Liuwa (The Last Lioness), a totally wild lioness, who adopted a European film crew...beautiful story:

And my favourite about Ma-di-Tau (The Last Lions) who had no pride and eventually became the leader of her rivals...amazing story:

What an irresponsible mother to take her children up there! Call the GPS (Goat Protective Services).
