What do we call two negative quarters in row? Lemme check my press stylebook, begins with a "r" if I remember correctly..."re-"...hmm, nothing there..."rece-"...nope..."reception"! No. That's weird, the word appears to have disappeared in the new printing dated 2008...
To: ealgeone

I thought it was a really big deal when Bush’s GDP went down to 4.1%? Oh yeah, he wasn’t a Marxist.
Pray America wakes up

The economy had shrunk before the numbers were released. The numbers are not the economy. (GDP is one number. It is not the one sole measure of the economy)
It has been obvious that business, jobs and prosperity have been going down the toilet for the last few years. IT IS A BIG DEAL!
Now if Bush were president, the headline would be:
ECONOMY TANKS. MILLIONS OUT OF WORK AND ON FOOD STAMPS. NO RECOVERY IN SIGHT.

What do we call two negative quarters in row? Statistical error at the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Re-education required prior to IRS audit. Ignorance is strength.

And CNN itself is too stupid to see that headline’s connection to its own future.
