And at this very moment he is receiving prompt and outstanding medical care at a military hospital , while honorable vets who have served their country bravely and with distinction are placed on waiting lists for serious medical problems requiring urgent care and dying as a result of lack of prompt treatment
So he got promoted to Sergeant and will collect all those years of back pay for this, if someone doesn’t file charges against him.

If this is true I hope (but doubt they will because of the political leadership) the military does the right thing and prosecute him for desertion/treason.
I find it interesting that Obama (peace be upon him) does a photo op with his family but question whether he ever did (or will) do a photo op with the families of those who died DOING THEIR DUTY in the search for the deserter.
The same military Obama has been purging for the last few years?

It was my assumption that the US wanted him back, being a US soldier, but was not real motivated to retrieve him anymore.
I think the speculation was that he was in Pakistan. IIRC
IMO, this is a PR stunt and a way to unload some detainees by Obama.

One aspect of this story concerns me and I’d really like to put it to rest -
Having been in the Navy many decades ago, I’m certainly not up on current Army slang. Would an American soldier refer to Bergdahl leaving “his kit” behind? That sounds more like a Britishism to me. I would have expected an American soldier to call it “his gear” instead.
And more will die because of who was traded for him.
Nope. I was wrong! This post was backchanneled from Spec Ops. The other was from a twitter account of a soldier who bunked with Bergdahl.
I think that has been zapped. I was on it earlier but then couldn’t get back in.
