Followup by David Sherfinski, The Washington Times of story on Hagel not negotiating.
As a prisoner of war in Afghanistan was transferred back to U.S. custody, Republicans challenged the Obama administrations insistence it did not negotiate with terrorists in securing the soldiers release and say the move was illegal and could embolden terrorists around the globe.
Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said the U.S. did not negotiate with terrorists in the process of exchanging the transfer of five terrorism suspects for the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.
We didnt negotiate with terrorists, Mr. Hagel said on NBCs Meet the Press. And I said and explained before, Sergeant Bergdahl is a prisoner of war. Thats a normal process in getting your prisoners back.
Sgt. Bergdahl arrived at a U.S. military hospital in Germany Sunday after he was handed over to U.S. special forces by the Taliban Saturday, with the government of Qatar serving as a go-between.
In an emotional press conference Sunday afternoon in Boise, Idaho, Sgt. Bergdahls father, Bob, likened his sons return to a deep-sea diver coming back up and urged a gradual re-assimilation process.
If he comes up too fast, it could kill him, he said, thanking supporters and government officials for their help in the process. The recovery and rehabilitation of Bowe Bergdahl is a work in progress.
Jani Bergdahl told her son to give himself all the time he needs to recover.
I love you Bowe Im so very proud of you, she said. We praise God for your freedom.

Sen. Saxby Chambliss, Georgia Republican and ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said the administration assure him six months ago they would not consider the release of the leaders without consulting Congress.

So it was indirect negotiations but as many said on former thread, it was capitulation.
Hey, Saxby, did you learn nothing from Animal House?* “you [blanked] up, you trusted us.”
“And I said and explained before, Sergeant Bergdahl is a prisoner of war....”
If Obama is found to have supplied weapons to the Taliban, he should be tried for treason. Hagel just asserted that he was a prisoner of war.
The prisoners were released in Qatar.
Qatar funded Al Qaeda.

Of course news was only reported when Bush was president.
They did squat on Libya. Why did he think they would care on this?
Amen, there’s none with this Congress against the turkey in the WH.
He is suppying Syrian rebels with $hundreds of millions of dollars, as well as weapons, and now wants to give then military training. The Syrian rebels have sworn allegiance to A Qaeda.
Obama has been doing this openly and the world is silent. It has been exposed and blacked out. Google Syrian rebel, Al Qaeda, and Obama. It all comes up, but very few coonect the dots like Famed Author Seymour Hersh. He points out the obvious illegalites, but is obviously afraid to call it by name TREASON.

Investigative report demolishes claim that Syrian military gassed own civilians.
By Pete Papaherakles
A renowned investigative journalist has revealed in a worldwide exposé, which received almost no attention in the United States, that the Obama administration has known all alongand the establishment media has covered upthe fact that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad never gassed his own people in August 2013. This news comes as Secretary of State John Kerry continues to lie to the American people and the world about Syria in order to gin up support for an overthrow of the government in that Middle Eastern country.
In The Red Line and the Rat Line, which was published on April 4 in London Review of Books, which has the largest circulation of any literary magazine in Europe, Pulitzer Prize recipient Seymour M. Hersh explains that a sample of the sarin gas used in the August 21 attacks on Ghouta, Syria, was provided to British intelligence at Porton Down, the defense laboratory in Wiltshire, England. Analysis by the Brits proved conclusively that the gas did not match the batches known to exist in the Syrian armys chemical weapons arsenal.
After the August 21 chemical attack, a monster strike was being organized at the Pentagon, which was to have included B-52s loaded with 2,000-pound bombs. It was set up for the purpose of completely destroying Assads military, the electric power grid, oil and gas depots, all known logistics and weapons depots, command and control facilities and all known military and intelligence buildings. Britain and France were also ready to provide fighter jets, ships and submarines.

“It depends upon what ‘is’ is.
If we had "negotiated" we probably could have gotten the deserter for one terrorist instead of 5.
We just capitulated to their demands. We didn't offer a counter offer because that would have been "negotiations."
As long as you don't make a counter offer to the initial demand, there is no "negotiations." If we had offered to release 3 instead of five, that would have been illegal, since WE DON'T NEGOTIATE WITH TERROROSTS!
Got it?
IOW, we need to come up with a good working excuse for why he deserted his unit.
The one thing that 0bummer and many of his lap dogs are good at is parsing words, in fact they’re excellent at it.
None of this would be happening if John Boehner were alive...
So, it is normal prisoner swap procedure to exchange one junior NCO for 5 leaders of the Taliban insurgency who are such dangerous enemies that we have them imprisoned at a camp designed to hold the most dangerous of the dangerous.
