Washington Post writer Bob Woodward said Sunday that he doesn’t believe Hillary Clinton when she says the Benghazi investigation is all about politics, claiming there are still “serious, unanswered questions about this.”
Woodward spoke on a “Fox News Sunday” panel about a leaked chapter from former Secretary of State Clinton’s new book, “Hard Choices,” which addresses the September 11, 2012 attacks on State Department personnel in Benghazi, Libya.
While many assert that Clinton and the broader Obama administration were involved in a political cover-up of the attack’s details, the book declares that everything there is to know about Benghazi and the administration response has already been revealed, with Republicans merely playing politics by continuing to investigate.
But the well-known scandal hound disagreed with that interpretation. “The issue is, is there new information out there?” Woodward explained. “And one of the questions I have — and I think there are serious, unanswered questions about this — did she keep a diary?”
“When I talked to President Obama, he confirmed that he keeps a diary,” he continued. “I asked for some of it for some of the work I was doing and he said, ‘No, it wouldn’t be relevant.’ But are there diaries?”
“Remember, go back to the 1980s and Iran-Contra,” Woodward noted. “Ronald Reagan kept a very detailed diary, and he finally turned it over.”
The veteran Post reporter also knocked Clinton and Obama’s continuing response to the Benghazi investigation, claiming it’s not all about partisan politics. “There are facts,” he asserted. “There is neutral inquiry. And there is a way to look at this and get that information and see if there is new information.”
One who is being investigated does have the option to set the terms of the investigation.

Ronald Reagan was a principled, honest man.
If Hillary or Obama were to turn over a diary, its contents would be suspect, at best. These types would be more likely to 'lie to their diaries' to establish an exculpatory narrative. I wouldn't believe a word of it.
Keeping a diary would involve actual work. Obama has already proved that he has no capacity for actual work.
Have no fear Mr. Woodward, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is coming.
Interesting that he brings up Iran-Contra. As some of the oldsters here may remember, one of the rallying cries of the Dim-o-crats back then was that "we do NOT negotiate with terrorists!!"

Hillary's book stoutly declares that everything there is to know about Benghazi has already been revealed....she is hoping to silence Republicans by charging politics is behind the continuing probe.

Dear Mr. Woodward:
1) While this is a true statement, what makes you think democrats will participate in a 'neutral inquiry to look at this and get that information and see if there is new information'?
2) Is there a democrat, on the Select Committee, that has said they will seek the answers that will provide the truth?
3) Mr. Woodward, there are connections you personally have with democrats, in Congress; Will you encourage all the democrats on the Select Committee to seek the answers that provide the truth?
4) If not, why not?

Has Woodward experienced a resurgence of the curiosity that lead him to expose the Watergate scandal?
He has been astonishingly incurious about many, far worse national political scandals since then, which caused some people to wonder if his pursuit of Watergate was merely partisan politics rather than some high-minded pursuit of truth.
Maybe he was just tired after the Watergate exposure and needed a rest.
I’ve held Bernstein and Woodward in contempt almost all my life. Sure Nixon had his short comings, but every American president did the same thing he did. Nixon was stupid, and got caught over nothing, but B & W were media whores who went after Nixon with the help of Dean and some others, so they could ride the party circuit of the left.
And the country suffered dearly because of this. That buffoon Ford comes in, and knocks out REagan, then we get Carter, and our soldiers go in to undo his betrayal of the Shah.
So here’s the deal, Bob. IF your are the journalist you say you are, let’s cut thru the partisanship, and really dive into the story here, and please find your secret deep throat sources and uncover the truth. We here all know the truth. CLinton and Obama lied, and they have blood on their hands, and dirt on each other.
Find out the truth, Bob, and all things will be right with you and me. Fact is, Bob, this will require you to be an impartial journalist, which you are not.
But, I’ll give you a chance, Bob. I’ll give you from now and July to show me what you intend to do with this story.
