Laura Ingraham Emerges As Top GOP Primary Warrior

RICHMOND, Virginia—Her surprisingly activist support for the long-shot primary challenger to Eric Cantor is part of a larger plan to shape the GOP, conservative radio talk show host Laura Ingraham told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview.

"I think Jeb Bush will be the nominee of the Republican Party [for President in 2016]. I would be stunned if he weren't," Ingraham told Breitbart News.

"I think it's important to raise these issues about Jeb Bush now so people are not shocked that, oh my gosh, he's for immigration amnesty. Oh my goodness, he's for fast track trade authority. Wow, he's for doing more deals with China," she said.

"It's important to talk about these things now before we end up getting into a situation where it's a fast track to the nomination and it's a done deal, it's a fait accompli," she said.

Ingraham spoke at a Dave Brat campaign rally in Glenn Allen, Virginia on Tuesday evening. Brat, an economics professor at Randolph-Macon College, is challenging House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) in the June 10 Republican primary in Virginia's 7th Congressional District.

Brat's criticisms of Cantor's immigration positions have forced Cantor to suddenly discover his inner anti-amnesty warrior in the last two weeks of the campaign, at least as he's described himself in his television ads and direct mailers.

Ingraham explained why she believes Cantor will pivot back to his pro-amnesty positions within days after the June 10 primary, if he is renominated.

The guy who dumped her at the altar may well be the stupidest jerk ever. What a woman. Smart, sassy, and beautiful

One of the early supporters of MIT Romney, yeah, she’s brilliant.

“One of the early supporters of MIT Romney, yeah, she’s brilliant.”

That was my first reaction too. I stopped listening to her years ago because I got sick of hearing about her adopted kids and her books, and for some other reason I can’t remember, probably Romney.

But if she’s helping Brat, I’m grateful.

Blah Blah Blah. When the chips were down Laura attacked Matt Bevin; not supporting Ted Cruz with her Jeb Bush as nominee remarks. She has lost her edge. However, she did mouth off at Grover Norquist recently over Amnesty. She is what I call being all over the map.

I just don't think another Bush candidate is what this country needs right now.

I think right or wrong the 2008 financial mess will be linked to his name as well as the bad intelligence about WMD’s in Saddam's bunkers and there's more.

The country needs to be rid of democrats in the white house, this is going to be a very tough battle and I just don't think it's wise to be starting from a position where you have to be defending the candidate.

Just my two cents, and I liked GW Bush

Ditto all the replies, AND she was a big Kelly Ayotte supporter.... smacked of “sister-power” to me. I like her bumper music though.

At least she is altering the public on Jeb Bush, but she shouldn’t think it is fait accompli that he will be nominee.

Just mad at how she went after Matt Bevin mostly. Yet, she was upset at others for attacking the candidates she supported. She ranted about how the tea party was run. Yet she ranted about Bevin. We are in Pizarro World.

Not sure if she endorsed Bush or she made an observation.

Right. She gets to be on Fox news with O’Reilly while Michelle Malkin was canned from hosting his show. In fact, Malkin isn’t on much these days. Not since January.

The republicans will be handing victory to the democrats if Jeb is the nominee. Who will vote for him besides the rino establishment? Nobody.

Ok I understand. Just making an observation. I don’t dislike Laura. Just wish she had not been so vocally against Bevin. She could have twisted voters against him. As for Jeb Bush I noted in a second reply she was trying to warn them about him. But I was hot headed and it sounded to me like she was just automatically expecting Jeb to win the nomination.

I was never sold on Bevin as more than the usual privileged-guy opportunist.

She’s smart, I’ll giver her that, but she’s all over the place with her politics. On a personal level, she’ a nasty piece of work. A friend who interviewed her for a local radio show was treated like a piece of trash by her. She was relentless in treating this guy ( a fellow conservative) like dirt for no good reason.
