Sen. Lindsey Graham on Tuesday urged House Republicans to save their powder for the debt ceiling fight in a few months, instead of getting blamed for holding out on the Senate-backed fiscal cliff deal and then fold like a cheap suit.
Do the best you can, make it (the cliff deal) better if you can, but heres reality: Right now all tax rates have gone up on all Americans, the South Carolina Republican said. You need to understand this: If we dont get this tax rate problem fixed for all Americans, the economy is going to collapse, the stock market will go down, the Defense Department is going to become unraveled.
He continued: Were going to get blamed and about two weeks into this, well fold like a cheap suit. Save your powder for the debt ceiling fight.
In the Fox News interview, Graham calling the president a small-minded guy in big times drew a red line for House and Senate Republicans for the upcoming debt ceiling fight.
Work with me and others never to raise the debt ceiling again unless we address why were in so much debt, he said. Thats where we have leverage, thats where we should go to next.

it’s a lot easier to dodge one bullet then 20
The issue isn't the debt ceiling. The issue is GOVERNMENT SPENDING and a $ 4 TRILLION federal government budget that needs to slashed by 80% (=$800 billion budget - still too big but it's a start.)
EXPEND YOUR AMMUNITION ON THAT NOW. What the freak is the point of waiting around?
There is no fight over the debt ceiling. It’s just notice that congress must approve upcoming spending that is already legislated.
And the liberal media has turned any “fight” over that into political hay for Democrats.
Besides, Republicans like and approve the spending just like
Democrats anyway.
In order to save fight, one must first have fight.
And the GOP ain’t got none of that.
oh, when the libs and traitors will say we don’t have time b/c the govt will shutdown and the world will end?
Linda, resign, you worthless DemocRat.
