Why, its as cozy as can be. The National Republican Senatorial Committee has launched a Grab a Bite With Mitt contest for those who would relish a future meal with Mitt Romney at a Boston restaurant. Indeed, the committee covers lodging, airfare and of course the eats.
Would it be a turkey club sandwich? Sliders? Pate du foie gras? The restaurant in question has not been revealed.
Were confident that Republicans across the country will be eager to take the chance to meet him, the committee notes.
One person who will not be vying for the honor is Richard Viguerie, the longtime conservative maven and author who is vexed with the committee for declaring it was all in for Sen. Thad Cochran in the Mississippi Republican primary. Mr. Viguerie is now calling on Republicans to boycott the organization.
"Conservatives should not give a dime to the National Republican Senatorial Committee, or the Republican National Committee for that matter until they stop running an incumbent protection racket that supports big government candidates like Thad Cochran against the clear preference of the GOPs grassroots voters, a vigorous Mr. Viguerie says.
Thad Cochran is one of the Senates least distinguished members. He has spent 42 years in Washington grasping after pork, not leading on the conservative agenda, he continues. If Thad Cochran is the Republican nominee in November he will be virtually indistinguishable from the Democrats senate nominee, former congressman Travis Childers.

Way ahead of you, Rich!!
Most so called conservatives don’t know anything about the RNC and have no interest in fixing it.
This hasn't been a problem for me since W's first election. I do however, take their calls and give the poor soul on the other end a piece of my mind. I end the call by letting him or her know that I realize they are just doing a job in a call center but always ask that my remarks be pushed up the chain. I've never received a call from anyone to discuss further, just more requests for some of my paycheck.
“Thad Cochran is one of the Senates least distinguished members.”
Ole Thud was there to see our debt go over $17,000,000,000,000.00 without even making a lot of noise. This clown needs to pack it up and go home.
I’d like to fix the RNC if fix means neuter.
Hell we can’t even get conservatives out to vote for committee members.
Plenty of sound and fury from conservatives but not much action when it comes to taking on the policy making structure of the party.
“Conservative Kingpin” - The media never misses a chance to paint conservatives as gangsters.
The NRSC should go so broke that they can’t afford toilet paper. If it endorses a candidate, you know that candidate is not a limited-government conservative.

I don’t think people realize how much difference they can make doing little things.
I am not from Mississippi but it bothers me greatly that Cochran’s wife is in a nursing home while he is off in D.C. living with his staffer, enjoying taxpayer trips together, entertaining, having a life. I know there probably are many ways to rationalize such behavior. I have seen it. It bothers me because it seems selfish and disloyal and those are not good character traits. The apparent acceptance of his behavior by so many also troubles me. Is there a lot to explain this?
You’re assuming that the RNC really has the best interests of the party at heart. Some of the committee members are outright liberals there to destroy the GOP.
Its one of the reasons they’re still trying to force Dave Agema to leave the RNC. He tells the truth about their little secrets. He has stated that the RNC wrote opposition to gay marriage into the platform but talk among themselves about the fact that they have no intent to stand by it. Him saying so brought another round of calls for him to resign. He is correct, the GOP platform is just a thin veneer of conservative that exists only to get the rubes to vote for them.
The fact is, if we can’t get 1000 or so tea partiers out to state conventions to elect conservative committee members, we may as well just give up on voting altogether.
It only took about 1000 total votes to overthrow the old GOP establishment hacks on the RNC from Michigan. Dave Agema and Terri Land were elected to those seats. Unfortunately when Terri Land stepped down to run for the senate, Mitt Romney’s niece was appointed to fill it.
These people treat US Senate membership as if it is the most exclusive hotty toddy club in the country. Party affiliation doesn’t matter. Once you’re in the club, you are protected by fellow members. It is a corruption that will never be eradicated until we repeal the 17th Amendment.
