WASHINGTON — Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has told medical officials that his captors locked him in a metal cage in total darkness for weeks at a time as punishment for trying to escape, and while military doctors say he now is physically able to travel he is not yet emotionally ready for the pressures of reuniting with his family, according to American officials who have been briefed on his condition.

I have heard accounts from a number of them but none were contradictory.

In my mind, I keep seeing the video of Bergdahl sitting in that truck, weeping. I see the Taliban guy leaning over the door, giving Bergdahl a thumbs-up sign and then patting him on the shoulder, as if to say, “You are a good guy. We know you are one of us and we know you are going back to the Great Satan but we appreciate all the help you’ve given us”.
Bergdahl’s tears certainly did not look like tears of joy at being released, rather they looked like he didn’t want to leave.
The he gets into the choppper and asks our people, “Are you SF”? They say “yes” and he weeps again. Looks to me like he knew he was busted.
I rememebr seeing pics of returning Vietnam War vets, smiling, and with wives or daughters greeting them. I thought I saw at least one of a POW. Am I misremembering this?

The Tollybahn sold him for the prisoner exchange and his feelings were hurt.

Guess they each must have found and ate the correct wing of the fly* that was carrying the disease that afflicted them upon its other wing!
One thing is not clear from this story: what language are the medical personnel speaking with him? Has he also suddenly regained his English?

In the meantime, at least eight soldiers who died looking for this POS will never re-unite with their families again on this earth.
I don’t believe anything said by Bergdahl , this White House, or journalists. When the three get together to play telephone, I doubt that the final output will even have a distant connection to the truth.
Bill Burkett, a retired officer in the Texas National Guard was identified by some news organizations as a possible source for the documents.
Like all other scandals from this WH, the administration will slow walk Bergdahl's public appearance until some other story can take its place in the news cycle. The administration is hoping that, like all other scandals thus far, this one will fade to obscurity in the minds of the news reporters and especially the voting public.
Maybe it is time for the house to vote an apology to Joe Wilson. He was correct when he yelled “you Lie” to Obama. That makes him the ONLY politician to speak out with honesty. Until he gets the apology from the Republican-controlled house, we have to assume the rest of them there believe Obama didn’t lie, making them complicit in the bigger lie.
