If people spent a fraction of the effort working to elect conservatives that they use to invent excuses to keep electing closeted Democrats we would be ‘winning’ n the truest sense.

Bump!

Name a pastel RINO accomplishment.

I don’t think we “need” more RINOs. I’m not excusing them. I’m simply saying something is better than nothing, and the latter is exactly what we get with Democrats.

I also think conservatives are trying to win elections, but we aren’t winning everything. That’s simple fact. I can piss and moan about it, or I can accept it and move on to the next best option.

Consider McConnell. I didn’t want him to win, but he’s not my senator. The people in his state picked him over the more conservative Bevin. Like it or not, their choices are now limited to McConnell or a Democrat. There are no other options. One of them is going to be one of Kentucky’s senators, and McConnell—whatever you want to say about him—is not going to vote in lockstep with President Obama and the Democrats.

Name a “bold color” Republican accomplishment. Neither conservatives or RINOs seem to be accomplishing much right now. Why is that so? Democrats!

Oh, I had better head you off. I respectfully disagreed with the use of the word political not the statement as a whole.

The reason I disagreed with the use of the word political is that it is too vague and broad.

I was not saying that it was not political as far as it being done by politicians.

It leaves the possibility of someone thinking you meant a motive. I hope that helps.

There is nothing to consider. RINOS got us into this mess refusing to hold anyone on the left to any account at all. Multi uear investigations leading nowhere, excuses for Obama overreach, allowing DOMA to be destroyed and DATT to be pen and phoned away.

they were complicit. They did nothing. That’s reality. Romney haz less conservative positions on his record than Obama. Literally. look it up. Mitch declared war on the Tea Party. They are complicit. And as such, no different than a democrat.

Every major issue they either sided with dems or caved into them. Thats a fact. Anyone supporting and or wanting more of them is no better than they are.

Cute.

Here’s just a few.

Tax cuts, low inflation
Tear down this wall
Reagan was pro-life
He kicked commie Carter’s malaise to the curb

And your pastel pansies - nothing.

Talked to a democrat today - who voted for Obama twice... Trust me - things are NOT going well for Democrats.

Third parties and write ins are not allowed in Kentucky? Imagine their surprise.

How is it caving when Democrats control the presidency and the Senate? I think it’s pretty clear that President Obama will NOT compromise, and Harry Reid has the president’s back. How does one win in a situation like that?

You claim the RINOs are complicit. I claim they’re largely powerless to change the status quo.

I’m not saying the RINOs are with us on every issue. They are not. What I am saying is a RINO does not equal a Democrat. That’s not really conjecture. It’s fact backed up by voting records.

Hey. I don’t like compromise with RINOs, but compromise is better than outright defeat. Do you really think we’d be better off today if every last RINO was replaced with a Democrat? That’s absurd!

You went all the way back to Reagan for those accomplishments, but he’s gone. We have to work with what we’ve got now. Even Reagan had to work with the so-called pastel Republicans. He didn’t have enough conservative votes to do anything without RINO cooperation. Does that mean RINOs are good? No, but they’re definitely better than Democrats. That’s the only point I keep trying to make. People who claim RINOs are identical to Democrats are wrong.

The real reason is that the hapless GOP and its primary voters are too cowardly to stand for what is right.

OK. I was wrong when I said there were no other options between McConnell and the Democrat. There are other options, but mark my words. Either McConnell or the Democrat will win. Those are the only two viable options.

Look. I’m not going to demean anyone who can’t bring themselves to vote for a RINO. I don’t think it’s black and white, because some RINOs are clearly worse than others. Nevertheless, if a conservative thinks McConnell is that bad and doesn’t vote for him, that’s their right. By the same token, don’t blame me if I vote for what I perceive to be the best possible option.

Vote for the best conservative in the primaries. In the general election, vote for the most conservative candidate who can win.

Vote for the best conservative in the primaries. In the general election, vote for the most conservative candidate who can win.

A philosophy worthy of respect. However, your philosophy also gave us Romney and McCain, and reinforced the thought that such candidates really can't win because liberal Republicans can't out-Democrat the Democrats.

I'd rather see candidates who understand that the base is not to be treated as mere rubber stamps but rather are the basis for winning elections. I'm tired of moving to moderate candidates and will no longer do it. They need to come to me. But good luck with your way.
