The third-ranking House Republican is offering support for a path to legal status that would allow millions of undocumented immigrants in the country to work and pay their taxes.

In a new interview published late Tuesday, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) hinted that those contours of legal status may be included in the immigration principles that House GOP leaders are poised to soon release.

“The principles aren’t combined or written out yet, but in my personal belief, I think you’ll go with legal status,” McCarthy told KBAK/KBFX Eyewitness News in Bakersfield, Calif. “That it will allow you to work [and] pay your taxes.”

I'm sure the GOP will stay the course that Cantor set with amnesty for illegals and the whole package

It will take 50 tea party victories like the one we saw last night before the GOP starts to whistle a different tune.

McCarthy is from CA and McMorris-Hyphen is from WA.

We need CONSERVATIVES in the leadership from REPUBLICAN states, not states Obama won (OH, VA, CA, WA).

Who do the democrats have in their leadership, Pelosi (CA) and Hoyer (MD).

I might have broken into my neighbor’s home and stole his food, rifled his bank accounts, stolen his name and Social Security number and illegally obtained credit cards, goods, etc. using such.

I only wanted to do it because if was an act of love. I have about a dozen relatives over in Alabama I want to bring here and share in my good fortune. What’s wrong with that?

Shouldn’t I be given some sort of path, some rehabilitation, some ‘equal’ footing and a chance to vote? Shouldn’t I? I DEMAND A PATH TO LEGAL STATUS and an affirmation of what I have been doing! I DEMAND IT!

Actually, so do I ... as long as the path leads out of the country and attaches itself to the end of the legal immigration line.

The whole of the GOP House leadership needs to go. The scale of their failure is on a par with Sebelius. No one in the private sector employing such layabout losers, surveying the scope and depth of their failures, nonfeasance and treachery, would keep them on the payroll.

There are over 90,000,000 people out of work. Border control needs to happen. Let people in when we are able to.

We sure do Cotton.
Enough of the leadership and most committee chairmen who are from
ObamA states.
Our leadership and chairmen MUST come from conservative states.

I don’t see why those who have come here illegally and committed numerous identity fraud felonies should be candidates for legal immigration.

The vast majority of them are also ill-educated, multigenerational takers of government who vote Democratic.

I just see no reason to allow them here at all.

Short answer: Yes! In addition as soon as something like this goes down a judge will jump in and give them the 'right to vote' since they are working and paying taxes...etc. Bet the ranch on that one. The Republicans will never again be elected to anything but occasional subservient positions, maybe not even that. :IE: California.

Hmmmm. If the lyin’ king is so “okee dokey” with this, may I suggest a currently vacant abode in chitcago that could house a couple hundred of these poor deprived chirruns. I’m sure rhamee baby would love adding some more future dimokkkrat voters to the rolls.

Well, I don’t think the obie residence in chitcago is ghetto like(not being racis’ here) and it’s probably got some treasures in it.

Well, if the place(s) aren’t ghettos, then they don’t have to worry. They’ll get whatever is there in the end. If one fails, goes to jail, or whatever, there are a million more behind him or her.

I do believe the requirements for citizenship will automatically exclude the felons.

ID theft is done routinely and repeatedly by illegals and never prosecuted. Kick them out and keep them out.

Felons?

Aren’t some states allowing felons to vote while still locked up? Seems like WA did that.
