He was, but he came by it honestly. Frankly, it’s amazing that he survived the French and Indian War and the Battle on Snowshoes.

Well the fog of war is thick and there are many players.

I’m just a bit stunned that from all of history that I had never heard anything of the Culper spy ring until this year.

And one of the 6 is still unnamed

Booyaaah!

Hat tip and salutations to the 6th.

We owe a lot to those guys, and the French.

I know we make fun of them now as surrender monkeys but we owe our existence to them.
Guerrilla tactics is how we won independence.

A great point. The French were masters at it and incorporating the indiginous tribes into their strategy.

Hey I got no issues with them.

They have been egalitarian brothers in arms since and before our creation as a country..
And despite the meme they are tough as a cob, Every Frenchman
has an Opinel knife, his wife and granny do too.
Our kids cant take pencil to school anymore.

Thier food aint to bad either ;)

They really were good at it.

Let’s face it the French were Imperialist, but... they were egalitarian.

Shit they are still running colonies in Africa!

But everybody loves them Chocolate bars and the workers get paid.
LOL

Lt Terrence says “Segunda” before Simcoe stabs Lt Terrance in the neck.

Is that not Hindi for God?

I kinda like Simcoe as distasteful as he can be.

I think the fellow is kinda putting on a bluff that wont be argued with.

intense, to say the least. It’s a wonder Silcoe lived as long as he did. He must have made many enemies and ticked off many more.

I think his whole ploy was to be so brash as to not be questioned for his loyalty.

But he does have other loyalties.

JMHO

His own.
I think he wanted to be a free man.

Never said he wated to let others live free.

Still trying to figure the guy out, but I think he was overworking his had to dissuade questions from the crown.

Jeez it wold be great tactic to keep you from being a traitor.

Anyhoo I think Simcoe is a rough hombre and I wonder what he is up to LOL

I was terrified about how the show would portray the Dunmore proclamation. I feared a leftist slant about freeing the slaves but they were dead honest.

The Dunmore proclamation was a bill of attainder which stripped patriots of their property including the slaves. The slaves weren’t freed, they were given a choice. Fight for the British and gain freedom once the war was won, be resold, or given to British officers or loyalist families.
