Maybe some high heelerz???
You never know...
I believe and I have seen—that some—a percent of Gays—can change. Its a small percent—but some can and have. Others, maybe a majority, can not and will not. I would like to see more do so because—and this is my belief—and maybe I am wrong—that they would make great fathers and mothers—we are losing good people who go childless for the most part. If some—even a few change—that would be a good thing. Some can’t—I am Ok with that.
“Thou should’th listen to thine own advice...”
I’m jus’ messing with ya...;-)
There are a plethora of other governors out there who are worse than Rick Perry...
Who’s your Blue State governor??? Just curious...
He just alienated every stupid person in the country.
Exactly
Christie :)
He’s right, but, like alcoholism, not all treatment cures the patient.
Everyone knows that homosexuality is abnormal. Even the homos know it. Before anyone claims that a homosexual can’t stop their urges, well I would say to them that if someone were starving would they eat $hit? Of course not, some things you just know are wrong, no matter what.
In reading other articles, it appeared that Gov Perry was thinking of alcoholism having a claimed genetic link and comparing that to homosexuality which also claims a genetic link. As with homosexuality, the link is very weak if it’s even there....personally, I don’t think it’s there.
Perry, though, makes a good point: an alcoholic doesn’t have to act it out. He can say no to a destructive behavior.
My sense is that it takes real guts for Perry to say this.
He would make an infinitely better president than Obama, Hillary, any other democrat, and most republicans.
You have to WANT to seek treatment...
The mechanics of homosexuality are just too much for me to try and excuse, but I can only see this as a battle against conventional relationships, a mental condition (comfort zone) in which some people have personal sexual preferences as a form of rebellion against authority...
And have basically withdrawn into a collective movement which wants to justify (and fund) its rebellion by forcing government to write off on their immoral behavior...
And by succeeding in doing that, no one will be able to fight back against them, when the government makes that fight illegal, with punishment by fines, prison time...
And (as an added bonus) manipulating private corporate cultures into being open in company policies to defend it and make people sign employment agreements to not discriminate, or manipulate hiring of people of a personal sexual preference...etc etc etc...
Which is what some companies are doing already...
I see the IRS amending tax codes to fine companies, and audit them for homosexual hiring compliance...
Not to mention additional Federal regulations being very clear in those efforts...Much more than many other regulations we’ve heard about coming down the pipe in recent years...
The title is a lie. Perry did not say that homosexuals can undergo treatment like alcoholics.
Perry compared homosexuality to alcoholism in that a person can choose to partake or not partake in the behavior. An alcoholic can choose not to drink; a homosexual can choose not to engage in homosexual acts.
I agree with him.
It’s no different than saying an obese person can choose not to overeat.
In each case you can say they have some genetic makeup that makes it more difficult for them than other people to conquer these “afflictions”. But in each case, it is a choice.
Anti-therapy laws = SANDUSKYs REVENGE.
This topic is a no-win topic, used by the media only to stir up social discord. Any political candidate who bites on this bait is an idiot.
Nothing at all. That's why I say that hornet's nest doesn't to be poked.
RE: Any political candidate who bites on this bait is an idiot.
What if the media insists on bringing it up?
What if the media insists on asking a conservative candidate -— Do you approve of abortion in cases of rape or incest?
You can’t ran away from it...
RE: That’s why I say that hornet’s nest doesn’t to be poked.
But the lamestream media WILL poke it. Then what do you do?
Do you support a standard non-answer: “I have no comments”?
You can do jujitsu on the media, a la Newt Gingrich, making them look like fools for asking questions irrelevant for the job. However, Perry is not quick on his feet, so to speak, as is Gingrich. Perry reminds me more of Santorum or Huckabee, willing to wade into the divisive social issues, issues which can ONLY hurt them.
And I’ll bet that most “homosexuality” is by choice
Stop pretending this is all about the DNA. Some likely are but all these moms and pops leaving for same sex partners defy the DNA BS.
And just because someone may feel attractions to same sex, that doesnt give a license to practice it, especially on a promiscuous basis.
If it’s curable, maybe every homosexual will come forward and claim disability benefits.
This is very true. Nobody has to live in sin, no matter how eluding it may seen it can and must be overcome.
