Chris Matthews: ‘This looking down our noses at Tea Party people has got to stop’(VIDEOS)

The other night, in the wake of Eric Cantor’s epic loss to Dave Brat, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews appeared with the left-wing news channel’s new kid on the block, Ronan Farrow. Farrow was talking about how surprised he was that a Tea Party guy like Brat could be seemed to be so smart. After all, it’s simply shocking that someone so conservative is capable of making cogent arguments!

-SNIP-

Hell may have frozen over, because Matthews is just plain sick of people looking down on the Tea Party:

-SNIP-

This looking down our noses at the Tea Party people has got to stop. They have a message, they’re as American as any liberal is, and they’re really angry about the failure of the system.”

“Liberals HATE America.”

Sorry, but it isn’t true. I’m literally up to my neck in them here in the People’s Soviet of Washington State.

If Conservatives REALLY understood liberals, we’d never lose another election. Ever.

Liberals, the ones who vote in elections, believe that government is a force for good. They realize it isn’t true about governments in other places in the world, but they have an UNSHAKABLE belief that it is true of the US.

They have ample evidence to support that perspective, not the least of which is WWII and going to the moon. These were government programs. Building the A-bomb - a government programs. Even social security. The checks keep showing up. It’s ‘not perfect’, but the checks keep coming.

You know how to make an Iowa farmer cry? Weld his mailbox shut, because his government check keeps coming too.

It’s all a force for good. Kennedy influenced the current crop of 50 to 60 year old people. Liberals secretly acknowledge that Carter was an idiot, but he was a moral, God-fearing idiot who managed to bring Israel and Egypt together. He also served in the Navy, the last D President with military service.

Republicans, and Conservatives, aren’t offering any alternatives. Reagan did. He knew that if you were going to change things you had to offer an alternative that was better. He sold it, “Morning in America” and people bought it. We are at a place below where Carter was, except now the numbers are fully cooked in a way that Carter didn’t have at his disposal.

People are ready to vote for an alternative. We have to offer one, and we are not. Bush started out with ‘Compassionate Conservatism’, which ultimately was stupid, as he was selling to the wrong audience.

“A hand up, not a hand out” was the way to sell it. Any variation on that meme will do.

Last year we tried to run on ‘We’re not Obama.’ We are trying to do that this year. Problem is conservatives answer to that is, “You aren’t Obama. You’re an appropriating enabler and crony capitalist (which is another way of saying fascist), which is worse.”

Locally, in the various local races, we should be OK, but not great.

However, forget the White House, probably for the foreseeable future. The left’s strategy is as old as Rome - ladle out the money to the peasants until there is no more money and then go after the merchant class.

The merchant class responded by switching parties. Big business is blue now, not red. How do you think Boeing broke the union in WA state and lived to tell about it?

Wal-Mart tried to buck that tide. They actually DID something about the affordability of health care - $2 generic prescriptions and $40 for a full physical, including labs. Didn’t move the needle at all.

Now they are quietly blue. Period. The protestors are largely gone and they are expanding again.

Get this straight - Liberals believe American government is a force for good. Even the Air Force uses it as a slogan. The reason why the left is so pissed at Obama about the NSA thing is that it BLOWS THAT NARRATIVE UP COMPLETELY.

If we tweaked things and said, “WELL RUNNED GOVERNMENT is a force for good” and then told people about all the things you were going to do to make government good again, we’d never lose.

1. Bring the $2T in corporate profits back to the US.
2. ‘Citizens First’. In hiring, enforcing the law, access to programs that help kids pay for college, etc.
3. ‘We’ll quit f*cking with you’ program - no more broad-based domestic spying. No more spying on Congress. No more domestic drones used to surveil people’s homes.
4. Everyone contributes, and days spent filing tax returns that take hours is a thing of the past.
5. Adoption, not abortion. We’ll stop coming after Roe v. Wade, but we are no longer funding abortion either. We’re putting the money in programs that encourage adoption.
6. Faggotry - Fine, you can have civil unions. The LEGAL structure we call marriage, at least at the federal level, is terminated. Couples are now corporations, just as they always have been, filing like corporations with each State’s Secretary of State’s office. Marriage, for the purpose of the law, is now a SOLELY RELIGIOUS CONSTRUCT. This means you can form a civil union with any legally consenting citizen you’d like.

However, it also means we can decide with whom we want to pray, or whether some of us consider it a problem in need of a solution, or whether we want to sell you a cake that will be used in conjunction with a religious rite, and as such cannot allow ourselves to do that.

In short, we intend to truly separate what is religious from what is statutory. As for ‘In God We Trust’, you put it to a national vote. If ever we decide to take God out of the way we EXPRESS ourselves as a country, God will be able to tally the vote if He likes.

Right now 1 to 2% of this country is deciding for us. I’m not a fan of that, since I have serious concerns about their mental stability, and there’s plenty of medical evidence to back that up. The only problem now is that if I wanted to fund my own medical research project to study the causes and potential cures for homosexuality as either a genetic or mental syndrome, I could lose everything I have.

‘Bolshevik’ means ‘majority’. It’s what the very few, very vocal, very well organized communists did to overthrow the Czars.

While it is a mistake to assume liberals hate America, it is VERY safe to assume that liberals, all of them, believe that the ends justify the means. Always.

It’s why the NSA thing, Benghazi, Bergdahl, all of it is tolerated and defended. It’s why Obama hasn’t been impeached.

All Obama is doing is probing the outer edges of the envelope of what the Great Liberal Coalition - those diametrically opposed interests all united by that common belief that government is a force for ‘good’ - will allow a muslim infiltrator to get away with before they finally have had enough and even they move to remove him.

That point hasn’t been reached yet.

Looks to me like Chrissy just wants to be on the side that’s winning.

Either that, or he sees the writing on the wall and doesn't want to find himself excluded by the winning side.

I've posted this in the context of Republicans, but I think it's excellent advance for candidates backed by the Tea Party, and conservatives in general:

Stop talking to the knee-pad media!

By "stop talking", I mean: no interviews and no invitations to press conferences. Just exclude them, completely.

All the knee-pad media will do is try to trip you up, asking you "gotcha" questions they can trumpet on the nightly news and undermine you. Don't give them the opportunity.

Limit yourself to friendly media. If the unfriendly media protests, ignore them. Democrats do this to Fox News, and no one ever calls them on it.

Dave Brat won his primary campaign against the House Majority leader and millions in spending. He answered Cantor's attack ads with his own YouTube videos.

There's a lesson there for everyone. I hope they learn it.

The more I hear about Brat, the more I like him. He’s not so much against the GOPe as for a vision that contradicts theirs. AND he can effectively ennunciate it.

The guy should go directly into leadership - he’d be a great head of the House Republican Study Group (or what ever the internal House GOP policy shop is called).

Isn’t Chris Mathews the guy that said whenever Obummer spoke he felt a tingle running down his pants legs? Did he ever thought about taking a piss?

As a Christian I fully believe in redempsion—Maybe Chris M. has seen the light at long last! I would like to think so. Maybe he can have some real tea party people (not the far right nut cases they think make up the movement) on his show to debate issues of smaller government and lower taxes. We shall see—The Liberal wagon is coming apart—it soulded good all that hope and change but the Left has proven it can not govern very well. Prices go up, jobs down, more racism, more crime, more taxes—fewer results. Time to change horses.

new kid on the block, Ronan Farrow

Yes, the "genius" who made the remark that "Hillary Clinton represents the kind of honesty the public craves."

You're right Yoda, Chris Matthews lost his spot as 'most gullible democrat' when Ronan Farrow came on the scene...
