News of poor conditions at a holding center in Arizona for undocumented, unaccompanied minors whipped Sarah Palin into a fury Friday -- so much so that she said she was on the verge of renouncing her ties to the Republican Party.
"Finally, they have won me over. I actually agree with the liberals war whoop," the former Republican vice presidential nominee wrote on her Facebook page. "I, too, demand that this issue of young illegal aliens flooding across our border into horrendous conditions be taken care of. Now!"
The Department of Homeland Security began flying some young migrants to Arizona after more than 48,000 unaccompanied children crossing the border into Texas overwhelmed U.S. Border Patrol. A warehouse in Nogales, Ariz. was housing 700 of them at the beginning of this week and that number was expected to double to around 1,400.
In her Facebook post, Palin cited heat, illness, unsanitary conditions and potential sexual exploitation at the holding facility as examples of "child abuse." She then railed against the GOP's unwillingness to engage in meaningful reform on issues like border security.
"As a Christian I find it unforgivable to ignore this issue of overrunning border security into these conditions in southern states, and this one issue is just about driving me to renounce my Republican ties because, see, even leaders on the RIGHT side of the aisle havent exerted all Constitutional power to stop the madness," she wrote. "A few have tried, but until theyre sent reinforcements, then atrocities like the child abuse and exploitation youre now getting wind of will only get worse."
She then accused President Barack Obama of orchestrating the "crisis" in Arizona in order to advance his own immigration reform agenda.
"In this case, Obamas refusal to enforce immigration laws and his blatant suggestion that his chosen illegal activity will be rewarded are proof of his tyrannical tactics," Palin wrote. "The recent numerous manipulated 'crises' have the media pinging and ponging trying to keep up with what is the scandal of the day, which one overshadows another, and how will they distract next, and whos on first?! Purposeful decisions causing these crises are meant to overload the system, justify abuse of executive power to 'fix' it all, and ultimately tighten control of the people."
But lest anyone thought Palin was siding with Democrats who have called for giving legal status to undocumented children, she added in a post-script to her note that she would prefer to deport the children:
"The primary expenditure we need to supply in this humanitarian crisis is jet fuel to fly these children back home to their parents."
WHY WHY WHY?
Why does someone always have to say this? It's degrading and disgusting imagery. She may have more courage, she may have more guts, she may have more backbone...but not that!
Besides, women don't have testicle, they have.....other things.
Hurry...
Sad to say, but clear to see, we have a great number of folks who do not put much thought into their comments.
NO. They are not.
The RAT and Republican voters are worlds apart from each other on issues, and that's who create the platforms. The elected RATs seldom betray their voters, unlike RINOs.
The RINOs are little more than RAT infiltrators who have taken over leadership positions in Washington. (why do you think they call them RINOs?)
However, you could safely say "The RATs and RINOs are essentially identical"
“Mexico is a corrupt failed state.”
It hasn’t failed from the perspective of the corrupt elite who keep the vast bulk of their citizenry in peonage while feathering their own nests.
Come to think of it, Mexico is quite the model for our uniparty kakistocrats.
Look, look at this. We got Hurricane Grace moving north off the Atlantic seaboard. Huge...getting massive. Two, this low south of Sable Island, ready to explode. Look at this. Three, a fresh cold front swooping down from Canada. But its caught a ride on the jet stream...and is motoring hell-bent towards the Atlantic. What if Hurricane Grace runs smack into it? Add to the scenario this baby off Sable Island, scrounging for energy. Shell start feeding off both the Canadian cold front...and Hurricane Grace. You could be a meteorologist all your life and never see something like this. It would be a disaster of epic proportions. It would be...
...the perfect storm.
“If we do not have the numbers to dominate the Republican Party how will we ever dominate the general electorate?”
We’re too thinly spread to affect the outcome. Relocate, concentrate our numbers, dominate. One group trying to do that is shown in my tag line.
WRONG! NO refuge status for them. And do you think MX would send money north? Are you insane!?
I think Sarah gets it in her gut, but I don’t think she’s ready to accept the reality that’s unfolding in front of us.
We’re facing political collapse and everything that entails.
Time grows short. I invite her to lead. We’ll see if she chooses to do so or not.
“An official TEA Party, anyone?”
Not me. Electoral politics isn’t going to fix this.
On the contrary, it has been failing for the past 25 years.
What you call "my path" has zero to do with me. You seem to mistake it for a proposal as to a solution.
It is a situation I see coming, a prediction, a forward-looking observation.
Understand, Kansas. Whether you or I or anyone else likes it or not, IF the Republican party nominates another left-centered presidential candidate as it did in 2012, that candidate will be rejected by a majority.
That's all I'm saying, really. I'm saying face up to it, get ready for it, start thinking of ways to make it WORK for us instead of trying to prevent it, because there's nothing you or I can do to change it.
I would remind you, too, of the crucial reality: Risk is the price you pay for opportunity.
Voting "Republican no matter who" because of a "bigger picture" goal takes zero risk in attempting to advance conservatism, and hence presents zero opportunity to do so.
THAT is the reality before us. We must choose accordingly.
Sorry, I see this as an international disagreement problem.
Mexico is dumping it’s poor onto our nation rather than provide for them.
It should be sanctioned for doing so.
I haven't called myself a Republican since "Read my lips, no new taxes" became a broken promise.
Wise up already, the Republican Party is nothing more than Democrat Party Lite. Has been that way since George Herbert Walker Bush.
I say, Tea Party or Bust!
So when I vote "Republican," which opposite am I calling for? If it's Cruz, what in hell is Romney even doing in the party? How is it that it's that confused and hapless?
Frankly, I think we're ripe for a game-changing new party, a second party. The Republican party represents Grade B Democrat even when it wins.
Got enough of ‘em - thanks.
Ship ‘em to Alaska.
St. Sarah would love it.
Read the platform, see which man comes closest to the voters' agreed upon philosophy.
RINOs are interlopers, democrats, and opportunistic unprincipled politicians. What the hell ARE they doing in the party?
It's the TEApartiers' job to get rid of them.
Then when the RINO locks the nomination, the TEA partiers’ job to get rid of them entails voting so the RINO loses. That’s how to get rid of them.
Hate women? Nah..
Poseurs? Pretty much.
Especially those who beg for money under false pretenses.
Did she somehow force you to send her some money?
