Hillary Clintons out-of-the-gate stumbles in interviews this week reflect an issue shes faced repeatedly during her political career defensiveness with the media, and difficulty acknowledging a mistake.
By most measures, Clinton handled her hour-long interview with ABC News Diane Sawyer well she was tonally on-point about Monica Lewinsky and effectively handled a question about her age. She gently mocked Karl Rove for insinuations about her health.
But in the current media environment, its the gaffes that stand out. And her clunky response on why she and her husband have made exorbitant amounts in speaking fees and her tense exchange with an NPR radio host Terry Gross over her changed stance on gay marriage have dominated the coverage. Her allies fault a rapacious, gaffe-obsessed media. Clinton insiders argue this is the unchained version of the former Secretary of State the press has urged on for decades.
Be careful what you ask for because you might get it, said one Clinton insider, pointing to the coverage of the cautious Clinton and saying this is what happens when a politician is candid. Well, here you go, people. Buckle up.
Still, this is hardly the first time Clinton has flashed irritation when confronted by unwelcome queries it has happened frequently throughout her political career. Clinton has also shown some rustiness in the past after coming back from a hiatus from the media glare; her return to the public stage this week came after a year of very little questioning from the press.

It’s really good she hasn’t had to deal with Footnote 220 from the Starr Report, which notes that Monica rim-jobbed Bill.
Mommy what does rim job mean?
I was wrong:
About what, Hillary?
About Benghazi?
Being a good SOS?
Being capable of handling the job of CIC?
Standing by your man?
Whitewater?
Reset with Russia?
About your work on the Nixon impeachment committee?
Your $100,000 profit on cattle futures?
Being broke upon leaving the White House?
Vince Foster?
I could go on, but my fingers are beginning to cramp...
She has had some serious brain damage at one time. “I can’t recall” is her most used response to questions.
“Hillary Clintons hardest words: I was wrong”
I can’t think of it now but there was this Hollywood movie star...when asked about the secret to his long marriage said that it was these three words, “I was wrong.”
“No, I was a liar” ... better
It means,, OH LOOK, A SQUIRREL!
What? What about Benghazi and the stupid video? What about that BS you handed everyone in America including the grieving families? What about how you stated “What difference, at this point, does it make what the intentions of the attackers were...”
She promised that her state department would find them and at the same time said she wanted to make sure it didn’t happen again while at the same time denying that the motive was important.
Just another lying broad.
YMMV! :p
Hillary had never undergone a tough interview and can’t handle one. Elizabeth Warren is the new Hillary and the old Hillary is about to find that out.
At least it wasn’t sex, that would have been inappropriate contact for a middle aged, married PRESIDENT and a 21 YEAR OLD female intern. Had it been *sex* it would have been an abuse of power.
Thankfully its wasn’t like the war on women the Republicans are waging.
No difference between her and every other arrogant Marxist.
Pray America wakes up
How many former Obama Admin people did she hire anyway , LOL
Talk is cheap.
Second hardest words - “Sure, Bill, if you want to. Want to get a shower first?”
People don’t mind a lie if it’s someone they admire doing the lying.
